MDT 2013 Update 1 Join WiFi

Hi,

 

Since updating my MDT server to 2013 Update 1 I cannot now join laptops to our WiFi as part of the task sequence. Previously in MDT 2013 I had a command line run the netsh wlan add profile name="Profile.xml" command. This worked and was a big time saver when imaging laptops.

 

But since update 1 came out the deployment fails on this step and doesn't show any error code, all I get is the red fail window and the task sequence ends.

 

I was wondering if anybody else was joining laptops to the WiFi during a task sequence and how you were doing it.

I have exactly the same issue. Been trying to fix it over the last two days with no joy. Getting rather cheesed offf........

I'd be tempted to do it via GPO if it's not working as part of your task sequence. You'll have a network cable connected anyway to pick the profile up via GPO.

 

Have you looked into switching to RADIUS?

If I have to add another GPO for a fix that is a MS issue, im going to get a GPO and put it into MS servers where the sun dont shine and tell them they have a GPO issue......

I do it without problem but I call it via a batch file, rather than having the command in the TS.

 

I put the command in the batch and import as an application and then run the application as part of the TS

Fixed it...

 

Command line: cmd.exe /c netsh wlan add profile filename="%SCRIPTROOT%\Wireless Config.xml"

start in: c:\
