Shadow_Walker Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 I have been told by an SLT member that i need a new chair for the office. My office desk stands quite high at around 100cm but will double check the height when i am in tomorrow. Problem is i cant seem to find any chair which tells me how high the chair actually rises up and down. Does anyone have any ideas of places to get chairs or actual chairs. Thanks
Edu-IT Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 (edited) Viking provide this information on their products. For example, Energi 24 Posture task office operators chair in black fabric by Viking which rises up to 59cm. On the specification tab look under Seat Height Adjustment field. 6Foot2 Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 You have been told to replace your chair? The last time I replaced my office chair it was because the old one fell to pieces: While I was sitting in it! [Not joking]

bwestlake Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 We got these: (Element Gaming Office Chair - Black - Ebuyer) for our office after mine collapsed when i was sat in it...
Soulfish Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 My work bought me a RH Logic 400 (high back) Ergonomic Office Chair | RH Chairs | Posturite after my home working risk assessment, but I have to say I actually prefer a Steelcase Leap v2. The Leap is the most comfortable chair I've had the pleasure of owning
localzuk Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 (edited) My desk is pretty high up at around 76cm (its a counter top on top of actual kitchen cabinets). 100cm is very high up! You'd need a stool for that! Edited October 19, 2015 by localzuk
RichCowell Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 My desk is 98cm with a static shelf underneath for the keyboard & mouse at 80cm... I sit quite tall though, so have the monitors mounted on arms at the back of the desk... I have a spare PC set up that people use on a desk at 98cm too, but no chair for that yet, so I've been waiting to find something suitable - I'll check out the recommendations for that - thanks @Edu-IT, @bwestlake, and @Soulfish

Tesla Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I posted about chairs last year, might be worth going through it. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/141346-office-chairs.html
Shadow_Walker Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 Just measured my desk and it sits at 90 cm.

I'm in the wrong role I tell you 1
TomHD Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 (edited) I bought myself a RH Logic 400 with high back, some of the best £££ I've ever spent. Those Steelcase Leap chairs look nice although I would always suggest getting an on site demo. Any manufacturer that has confidence in their product will lend you one to try at your desk. RH loaned me 3 different models before I settled on the Logic 400. There was no obligation and RH were happy with me buying from a local company. Edited October 19, 2015 by TomHD
