Hi All,

A member of staff here wants to be able to record themselves on a camera and also have decent audio...

Has anyone used a video camera with a wireless mic who could recommend me some appropriate hardware?

Many thanks

Not so fast!

If you run a camera with a power supply (rather than batteries), and a mains receiver, you can get all sorts of interference issues.

You can get around this by -

1) running on batteries. OK if a short piece, or you can stop and recharge if necessary.

2) using a transformer isolator. Cheap ones around, good ones ££$$!!

3) using battery receivers. See 1, and also ££$$!!

Might be worth looking at hire of proper kit if you want/need to do this well.

Good makes, not in any particular order -

Micron (if they are still about) Very good, often used in Pro filming.

Sennheiser

Sure

Thanks Andrew, no speed here.

In general id say that it'll be fine running off batteries for their purposes.

I shall have a look into the stuff those brands offer

Hi @timlineuk there are a actual video wireless microphone sets you can purchase. One of the most common is the Sennheiser EW112p G3 system Sennheiser ew 112-p G3 - Lavalier Clip-On Microphone Wireless Set - Presentation - Transmitter, Receiver

These are 2 battery powered beltpacks with a lapel mic. They are not the cheapest by are really good units and long lasting. More than happy to get you a price on one of these.
