UK Data Residency - O365
timlineuk replied to MikeW's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
You can still do this until tomorrow - Go to Office 365 Admin Centre --> Settings --> Organisation Profile --> Near bottom of page. -
Got it!! GP wasn't updating the Program files(x86)\SIMS folder permissions with my staff group. Resolved that little issue as well as manually adding the security setting on my test laptop and all was well. managed to nab another laptop and tested all fine on that one too! So, yes. Luckily it will still work the way i want it to
-
aside from that
-
possibly possible but i cant just help feel i'm missing something in this situation.
-
It'll be 70 to 80 devices, all wireless. At the moment i'm thinking we're going to have to do a runaround Tuesday morning to get this done and being forced over to getting Solus3 onto all
-
Yeah, i guess i should expect nothing less! The user has full control over their app data \ temp folder. I've run process monitor but that's not showing any complaints either
-
Thanks for those replies. The thing that perplexes me is that this has been possible on previous updates... i've updated the setups directory > SIMS.ini is pointing to the correct one > permissions are (seemingly) set correctly and staff have been able to freely update without issue... until now
-
Due to the large number of staff one-to-one laptops the decision was made not to update them via Solus but to simply extract the files into the sims setups directory allowing the end user to dictate when SIMS is updates. Front office and in classroom staff PCs do update via Solus. Before now this has always worked very smoothly but i now appear to have a permissions issue as it will not fully update when logged on as a limited user account. My staff AD group has full control of the setups folder and the SIMS folder on the local machine, as has been advised previously. When the user has run the update they are now presented with; If i click "yes" SIMS will load and display the correct version on the splash screen and under "about" I may look to doing a solus roll out in the new term but that doesn't help my current situation. Many thanks

Probably a long shot, but does anyone use silhouette connect for illustrator CS6?

Hi All, I've got a recently set up exchange hybrid environment and i need to start migrating student accounts. When sending out a email to groups it will only send to 100 users... I've read the the recipient limit for exchange 365 is 500, but i'm not certain if this limit applies to groups? I can't see anything anywhere that would also limit to 100 recipients. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Tim

I assume it's a RC for the web filter and not just the LMA? Don't know what to believe really... engineers are expecting it imminently but their head of development is saying by the end of the year (which i'm aware could also mean imminently). i just would have expected the head of development to have said "by the end of the month" if that was the case rather than in the next 2.5 months!
-
agreed - support have been fantastic though and have done what they can and i think they've been just as frustrated as we have been in trying to convince the developers in the states that there is a problem! It is highly infuriating though, especially as we're a new customer! did they post the new LMA to you directly or is it publicly available?
-
vyperz - allegedly RC8 was hoped to be the candidate for full release however we're still experiencing issues surrounding SSL decryption with transparent proxy as well as reporting! Development in the states have taken a while to be convinced that there are still problems but luckily the LS support over here were able to replicate the issue. I predict and seriously hope, for my own sanity, that RC9 is released in the next couple of days! To be fair though, i haven't found the UI to be that slow.
-
Yeah, i spoke to them and they asked me to enable the logging on the LMA service. Mine seem too inconsistent to test but if you've got a client that's consistently doing it it might be worth doing this also so you've got some ammo for support. "To do this go to Services (on the local machine) > Go to properties of Lightspeed Management Agent > Stop the service > in the start parameters enter /L /O /V /Json > restart service, this will then give enough logging to help in diagnosing the issue." the logs are stored under C:\program files\Lightspeed systems\LMA\Bin Let us know how you get on Tim
-
vyperz - agree with you but i have had it working on switch user with inconsistent results. I've only found the https issue when transparent proxy is switched off (i believe this is expected) and likewise, even though SMTP is correctly configured and will send a test message the submit for review doesn't appear to work! This is still with version 3.0.0 of the LMA and not the updated 3.0.2... i haven't tested 3.0.2 properly yet.
-
All my users are authenticating but the agent doesn't always correctly keep track of the user. Have you seen there is a new version of the agent? it doesn't seem to have made much difference to me, but might for you...LMA 3.0.2/ There do seem to be quite a large number of issues in this release, i'm hoping a new release is out soon!
-
Hi All, We've only just put Lightspeed into production and i'm trying to iron out a few issues that i'm finding. At the moment when transparent proxy is on i'm not able to use services such as MS updates. What exemptions have people found they need to put in? I've added the domains microsoft.com and windowsupdate.com as proxy domain exemptions (as these were the ones being reported in the activity logs). Many thanks

Well confusingly there appears to be two companies who go by the name Tier 1! Once is a dutch company with a UK office and misco and BT business have quoted me using them - Tier1Asset - Leading refurbisher The other (the one that Cazale mentions) is a Manchester based company - Refurbished Desktop PC and laptops - Buy a Cheap Second Hand Laptop UK, Tier1Online.com - IDNS are quoting me using these. All companies will offer the same deal in regards to support (5 year, next day parts, etc.) which is great
-
Thanks, yes got ICT direct quoting as well and currently playing a three way game of tennis!
-
Has anyone brought reconditioned PCs from Tier 1 Asset via a company such as Misco or BT Business direct? Thanks Tim
