  1. We've just started to get this going for our school - does anyone know a way of making the school channel appear. My ideal would be that students automatically go onto the channel page which gives shows all the created playlists... testing this i cant find a way of students being able to see this... How are other schools using the service as a whole?
  2. Hi All, for the life of me i cant find the group policy setting for this! in the actual software it's under the advanced display options as "Disable hardware graphics acceleration" any assistance would be much appreciated Tim
  3. Indeed that wouldn't be good - i would however like to get it installed across the site as it's a really useful bit of software especially as we're deploying office 2010 this summer
  4. Slight hijack - but hopefully drawing on already obtained knowledge. I've recently got Ribbon Hero installed for all users, the problem i've got is that we use mandatory user profiles which get deleted on logoff. This means that RH also resets each time... the ideal would be to have some sort of ADM that i could redirect the RH user data so that it saves into their personal user area. Thanks
  5. ah gotcha, sorry, yes "\\dc\sysvol\domain\Common Folders\Desktops. I noticed that the .freemind folder was in the root of the users profile, so i also copied that folder to the shared profile in sysvol... tested again but still no luck
  6. the domain controllers sysvol area
  7. It's redirected from sysvol using group policy, so it isn't shared.
  8. Thanks - still the same though I've set permissions on the folder to everyone modify, i also tested that the user could create a file in this folder. What other tweaks might it need?
  9. This worked well for me I. Install Google Chrome normally, by double clicking on the installer; when in the final page (that asks for Advanced Setup Options & Launching Google Chrome), just close the window. II. Copy the 'Application' folder from default Installation directory i.e. For Windows XP : %UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application For Windows Vista/7 : %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application to a folder inside 'Program Files' folder, eg: C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application III. Inside the folder named with %Version#% [i.e. "4.0.211.2" for my case] cut all the files & subdirectories & move them to the main directory i.e. 'Application' folder, then you may delete the blank %Version#% directory. Remember the Value of this version for the next step. IV. Search for this Registry Key through running 'REGEDIT' [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Update\Clients\{8A69D345-D564-463c-AFF1-A69D9E530F96}] that will have a key i.e. "pv"="x.xx.xxx.xxx", if it doesn't exist, then create it, with the value of version number. V. In the next Registry Key, there should be (if not, then create) the path for Chrome Executable, i.e. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Update\ClientState\{8A69D345-D564-463c-AFF1-A69D9E530F96}] with key, "InstallerSuccessLaunchCmdLine"="C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" VI. Now, run the executable from its new location, you will see the - Advanced Setup Options & Launch Google Chorme, i.e. the final setup screen again. Choose your options & launch Chrome, you're done!
  10. Yep - i've tried the previous off creating the .freemind folder but it wont let me create with a '.' in front of it. I'm possibly being a muppet - i'm doing a load of summer hols image prep and it's melting my brain
  11. Hi Guys, did you get any further with this one? Procmon doesn't appear to be helping me in this case...
  12. Jon Wren is the chap you need to get in contact with - [email protected]
  13. Hi TechSupp, just in the process of doing this myself. What registry keys did you change? Thanks
  14. Thanks for this, i'd been looking at sorting this for a bit and this has really helped! however a couple of steps were missed off... Navigate to this folder - c:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerTrust copy the "Energy Dashboard.cfg" to the network share. edit the .cfg file so that it points to the network share where the software is installed rather than c:\ i also found that the directory did exist on a number of PCs so i did a small edit of the script so that it read: if exist c:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerTrust goto copy mkdir c:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerTrust :copy if exist c:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerTrust\Energy Dashboard.cfg goto end copy "\\app-01\resource$\GENERAL\Energy Dashboard\Energy Dashboard.cfg" "c:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerTrust\Energy Dashboard.cfg" /y :end the only problem i've got now is that the logger isn't being auto detcted and i have to put in it's IP. As far as i can see all the required ports are open but it still doesn't want to know... it must however be something on our network as it finds it find when plugged in directly.

    vPro & SCCM

Hi all, Is anyone successfully using vPro with SCCM 2007? all our vPro capable clients have been set up correctly but only a handful are provisioning correctly (about 10% as a very rough guess) any suggestions would be much appreciated Thanks
  16. Thanks, i'll take a look. would i be able to mail you a log if you PM me your address? There are a few "too many connection" type warnings in the OS event viewer so it could well be somthing to do with it, although none of the IPs logged are my test PCs
  17. Web proxy and firewall client support is enabled as well as NAT being used to forward clients out. Not 100% sure if that's the information you mean though
  18. Ok, thanks. I'll keep digging.
  19. It initiates the connection then allows the connection for about 2 seconds before closing the connection. about 50 allow logs in total but definately closing it fairly instantly
  20. Cheers, i'll have a look. it's also looks like the firewall service is initiating the connection and then closing it. why would this be?
  21. No i hadn't, thanks. The content appears to be allowed to load then it gives the message "10054 An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host" The destination IP is our cache/filter box
  22. Hi all, Not sure if this is the right section of the forum but it looked the best place to put it for now We've got an issue where flash content from websites such as vimeo is not loading for whatever reason. Our (very) basic network outline for outbound traffic is - Client PC > ISA 2006 > suffolk CC cachebox with filtering > suffolk CC proxy server (@ suffolk CC). we operate a private 172.* network routed by ISA to our CC The tests that i've done to rule out things such as the cachebox being at fault are; Local admin user through ISA – Working, no authentication requested by ISA Local user through ISA - Working, no authentication requested by ISA Going through our DMZ out through our cachebox – Working Test network accounts going via our county proxy (proxy.gfl.*, but will still be routed by isa) – Working Test network user going through usual route (isa-01 > cachebox > proxy.gfl.*) – NOT WORKING The previous solution to this was to put the URL into the internal networks web proxy direct access list. this has worked for some parts of youtube, google vids, etc but it's still very flakey. Basically all content for the page loads and the flash box just sits loading. Thanks
  23. No worries, think i've managed to sort it! Added the sites into the direct access list under the internal web browser properties. I used this site to point me in the right direction
  24. Hi All, All of our network traffic is routed via our MS ISA 2006 server. We've got an issue with a few websites that use flash content, the main one being youtube (staff access only) When flash content is accessed on the site it'll either just sit there loading or in the case of youtube tell the user that their flash player needs updating.... which it doesn't. the flash content works fine if ISA is bypassed any assistance would be much appreciated thanks
