Well, since I'm going to be arriving in London prior to my friends' plane arriving. If anyone wants to be a miniature tour guide for an hour let me know.

You want a miniature assistant to help you meet a plane? Will they be expected to shout "De plane! De plane!"?

Not to meet a plane, silly!

To figure out what the hell the "capital" of our country is supposed to be doing with itself and if there's anything close to Gatwick worth seeing :p

You do know that Gatwick is nowhere near London?? It's outside the M25 which basically means it's in the Badlands :-)

I have no idea! I don't do Southern.

I'm tempted to fetch YORKSHIRE puddings and use them as a currency...

If you do that I will consider loaning you a bed for the night in my place but that would be itand require the rest of the roast dinner....

As has been said Gatwick isn't London, London only has 1 airport an that is London City Airport all the rest are not really London they just claim to be to sound good but all are out in the sticks where monsters live

Distance to London on road signs is measured to Charing Cross. Gatwick is nearly 30 miles from Charing Cross. But London Stansted and London Luton are nearly 40!

London, nothing London about Gatwick, its in frigging West Sussex, with the Surrey border just nearby!!

If only it had been a week earlier could of given a lift as was down there for the weekend!

I resolved the issue, now I just need to figure out Gatwick > Canary Wharf.

It seems a train or something runs it for 20 per person. London is already stressing me out.

PLUS I JUST HEARD YOU CRAZY SOUTHERN FOOLS HAVE ROADS FOR PEOPLE?!

If that there London wasn't in the way it would make it far easier to get to Gatwick and such places, I purposely avoid it and go via Southampton if going that way on!

Yeah, it's the hotels that break me. Even a Holiday inn is 300 for 3 nights. up north it'd be like 100 for the same room :p

I stop at the Premier Inn at Stevenage when going to BETT - sufficiently outside London to not be ridiculously expensive, but only 5 mins walk from the station.

The Leeds>Kings Cross trains stop there both ways, or you can jump on a local one. (If you've got the right ticket)

I've got all the tickets booked, we're stopping in the Britannia International in Canary Wharf.

So meeting at Gatwick then drop our stuff off, then try to find the local tavern where John Smith's is served.
