So they shouldn't really have made this 'mistake'. Eh, you can't really be 100% on anything like that. If it's handmade it can be in any form really, it could even have pink fluffy tassels.

It'd be great if a bunch of rich tech bods got together and funded a private school scholarship for this kid I reckon. He's likely going to end up working for one of them with that sort of Maker attitude at that age!
LosOjos Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Assuming the article hasn't made it all up - they're still thinking of charging him for making a hoax bomb, despite the fact they acknowledge: a) it is a clock b) the accused only ever said it was a clock c) the only person who called it a bomb was his (ignorant) teacher I'm sure there are a fair few on here who have played with Raspberry Pis and/or Arduinos; can you imagine being charged with making a hoax bomb just because some ignorant person assumed it was a bomb, despite the fact it contains absolutely zero explosives and you never having claimed otherwise? It's a very dangerous precedence to set if police can start charging people for their own (acknowledged!) ignorance.

You guys ever see inside one of those things? Loads of weird electronics in there and NO broader explanation as to why they might have them on their website. Look all like movie bombs inside they do. Certainly would expect the bomb squad or whatever the unit is called over there to have been brought in (and for the school to have been evacuated until given the all clear)

So I'm inclined to believe the pencil case source is wrong and news sites were scraping info from each other.
