Anyone else watch the Apple conference last night?

Agree with most of what you said! Mostly reinventing the wheel. Nothing to write home about.

Same old Apple, technology is already here, but each year they make devices just a little bit better so people go out and buy. For example 12MP camera, nothing special.

I think the point with Apple is the technology is mostly already around, but they're refining it and making it a lot nicer to use.

But you have to think, they do spend a lot of time and money on engineering now, a lot of their components are made in house and engineered by Apple, like the 3D Touch controllers.

From the poke

Tech News: A man from London can barely bring himself to touch his disgusting less-than-a-year old iPhone 6, with its crappy camera and pathetic processing power that seems to mock him with every email he receives.

“Now the iPhone 6s is out it feels like I’m walking around with a big lump of **** in my pocket,” wept the man, who can barely bring himself to look at the expensive phone he bought less than a year ago, let alone touch it.

The iPhone 6s officially goes on sale in a couple of weeks, but is expected to sell-out - with customers placing orders now facing a 3-4 week wait for the new handset.

“You wouldn’t hold a turd next to your face in polite society and that’s how it feels when I answer a call on this crappy, outdated iPhone 6,” he added.

“Jesus, I feel sick just saying the name out loud. I might as well throw it away instead of facing the heavy burden of using this outdated pile of crap.”

Its a stylus.....

Didn't Steve Jobs once say that Apple would never use a stylus?

Guess with him no longer there Apple just seeing what others are doing and heading in that direction.

The performance increase is impressive again assuming it hits the mark which it has in the past. I wonder how many more years they can keep that up? Performance seems to be going up faster in mobile year on year then desktop.

No he said if you need a stylus to use a phone, like make a phone call, send a text, you have failed. Thats what a lot of touch screen phones pre iPhone were like, and he's still correct today.

Not sure he's still correct or was correct, I had a HTC TyTn2 many years ago. The stylus in that worked and was easier than sliding out the keyboard for quick texts etc.

I didn't realise it was on till after it all came out on BBC News.

Yeah I only knew about because I looked it up, maybe I was not paying attention or they just kept it quite for some reason

Don't forget the high price tag attached yet people will still spend 48 hours in a queue hoping to get the latest thing asap.... the same people who also moan about not having money.

Still, it is actual time I consider a new phone. Perhaps I will wait another year or so and see about an actual new one. My one is the 4S/5 I think... it's starting to really slow up and not worth doing much on except what a phone does minus the Apps.

At the moment phones / tablets are at a state of 'how do you add more non gimmick stuff', I am a huge fan of my 6 Plus having owned the original iPhone then the iPhone 5. The biggest problem I had with the 5 was how the battery life was crap, but then it got nicked so I bought the 6 Plus which lasts ages as long as you don't have stupid brightness levels!

Personally i would rather just buy the new MacBook Retina rather than a blown up iPad as I find iOS far too restricted to do proper work but then again I've never had a use for a tablet
