Hi guys,

Presently we have two physical networks on site for Admin and Curriculum. As part of the Network infrastructure upgrade we have put the Backbone on Fibre and L3 Core Switch and Edge Switches on L2. We also have Ruckus Wi-Fi in place.

Need some advice/ideas as how to reconfigure the whole network with VLANs.

You help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all in advance.

I'm sure some of the users can help.

Firstly we need to know what networking equipment you have in place, IP scope currently used and if these can be changed at your perimeter? Do you manage your edge router or is it an outside agency?

We have HP2920(03) stack as the core and HP2530 as the edge switches. And we have LGFL 2.0 100Mbps. we have to subnets 10.177.66.0/255.255.255.0 and 10.177.68.0/255.255.254.0

Thanks

That only gives you 764 addresses, and an arkward split. It's a shame that you can't get the middle range and then you'd have a more flexible nice chunk i.e. 10.177.66.0/255.255.252.0 giving 1022 hosts which is more workable depending on how many IP's you want in a subnet Edited by Davit2005

I'm pretty sure you can just send them a support request and ask for a single /21 range which can either get routed to your L3 device with a stub network and you split as you wish or you do the stuff on your end and split it however you want.
