Assuming you've tried both netsh winsock reset and netsh int ip reset on that? What build are you currently on? We are using an LGFL connection on Windows 10 and its fine, as above, wireshark is a key bit of kit here. Assuming because of that error, cortana isn't working as it thinks its not connected. You mention Essex, did they have a proxy... believe they did. Win10 uses the winhttp proxy rather than browser based addition, so might be worth double checking nothing has been added to the actual local settings rather than no browser proxy etc. I know it played havoc with Windows updates and other such things when we were running through a proxy based environment.

Hi, I know lgfl or atomwide raised with Google and a change was made to Youtubes actual app. Could raise a case and ask who or why but I got a response from one of their guys who has worked with Google to resolve that issue.

It is hard to explain how we pay for the service but it gets taken down for an unspecified time because of an attack. HI Jon, We use those as moderate ones, so it won't let you remove that restriction. when we use the more open ones (which we dont because safe search is removed) then we can control the restriction.

I think there is always that risk, not had anything reported to me directly however if you do search the common words like s** etc, you do get some unsavory stuff, then again its not a common search term here.

I'd recommend doing that otherwise the server is still well aware of the route to YouTube as it'll be in the com folder. Saves bandwidth by knowing where to go anyway Clear caches on the devices you are using and you should be away!

There is. I called earlier this week and was told that there are differences between the dns restriction and the self enforced one you can do on home machines but no way to implement those, it's a cookie that Google place when you change it locally but doesn't do the same with DNS. Safety mode has gone in favour of their restricted mode you can use Google Apps so perhaps a little nudge to get people on there within establishments. Google does bug me sometimes... perfectly good service that they change when they feel leaving us fighting for a solution!

Simply making sure they are added correctly and then browsing to YouTube would confirm if its being ignored or not. It took a few attempts but it works fine for us.

It does not, all that happens is the lookup ignores the lgfl DNS and then looks at Google to resolve, it still goes through the filtering. source: we enabled it, staff are able to log in and students are still blocked

Any connection to Exchange is going to want to do that with an Android or iDevice... Exchange allows you to remote wipe, you can remote wipe from OWA etc.

Do they have any apple caching servers in their WAN, likely the issue. Also, don't update to El Capitan if you are on Office 2011 with Outlook connected to Exchange, currently rocking OWA because Outlook doesn't connect to Exchange anymore

Hi, We've been with LGFL since early 2012 after the move from Synetrix to Atomwide or LGfL. The move wasn't overly bad but we did re-address our network to match what was applied to us. You can't manage their firewall, its installed and looked after by them, you ask to open ports etc. I can't really complain, ive had a few knocked back because ive not given them the addresses of where I need to open them to but aside from that, the rest have been fine. Filtering can be handled by your smoothwall I assume, if so does it fail closed so just deny if it doesn't know 100% if its allowed or not? If so, you could technically ignore the filtering with LGfL and open everything. If it doesn't you can use it as a base policy in case it does fail. I'm not a smoothwall user to forgive my idiocy! We use webscreen and aside from having to allow remote access tools, its been perfectly fine. Unsure why people seem to think the support is blunt, personally ive found them pleasant but then again I'm a pleasant person and if I call for support its because I've missed something or am genuinely lost. YMMV however. Still a solid 8/10 compared to the equivalent previous support which could barely scrape a 2. Hope this helps, feel free to ask anything about our set up

I'm pretty sure you can just send them a support request and ask for a single /21 range which can either get routed to your L3 device with a stub network and you split as you wish or you do the stuff on your end and split it however you want.
