Hi guys, Presently we have two physical networks on site for Admin and Curriculum. As part of the Network infrastructure upgrade we have put the Backbone on Fibre and L3 Core Switch and Edge Switches on L2. We also have Ruckus Wi-Fi in place. Need some advice/ideas as how to reconfigure the whole network with VLANs. You help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks all in advance.

I am working in a 3 form entry school. Recently we got the money to re- do the old staggering network infrastructure. I would love your input on how you would design a school's network infrastructure if you were starting from scratch. I realize this is a very open ended question but I'm looking for you to get as specific as you would like. We are going to have three mobile laptop (30) trolleys for each floor instead of our ICT room. And 3 iPads trolleys (30 for each floor) And we got the money to replace all the IWB. We also intend to install a surveillance system. I'm looking for things from the back end server setup all the way to what hardware should be attached to each teacher's PC’s such as an IWB. Funding is from our LA. So, assume there is funding for implementing a good solution with a reasonable price. This shouldn't be considered a project where money is no object but one where technology will be a big part of the children's education like it would be at most modern schools. They used a Programme called" Postfix " as the mail server. we are using our ISP's SMTP servers. yes the message go to the sent items but never reach the recipients

Yes, we get external mail without anyproblem. It's only to do with internal recipients within the same Organization. And i don't have any access to the ECP either :-( Thanks Dave

Hi James, yes I did setup Ms outlook to the ext. mail server, they use exchange . My Hyper-V is setup as HA. Do you know any better way of doing this? Thanks

Hi all, I have recently taken over work at a large primary school. where their web/mail servers are been hosted by a third party. the school domain has been setup as(Ex-) demo.com their webmail use the same domain name. when I try to setup outlook for the admin staff, they are unable to send mails to others in the same domain(Ex - [email protected]) unless they use the webmail. My first question is whether anyone can tell me what the problem is and if so how to rectify this issue. Secondly I'm hoping to setup a backup solution/disaster recovery, as there isn't anything in place. I'm thinking of purchasing a NAS( QNAP) and use DPM to backup both physical(2008R2/2003R2)) and virtual(Hyper-V) servers daily to the NAS. I intend to weekly backup the NAS to USB HDD to taken off site. Can anyone share their experience/ideas about this setup. all your comments and ideas are much appreciated. Thanks all in advanced. First you have to uninstall Ranger on all workstations by login as “rangersetup” then at last on the server.

Or In server 2003 open the AD and go to the OU>Properties>Group Policy>Properties>General>Disable

Transferring DHCP from old DC1 to new DC3 I have 2 DC's both running server 2003, but one of them (DC1) quite old, but is a fully functional DC/print/DNS for replication etc. I have added a new DC3 server2003/64. And would like to transfer the DC1’s DHCP scope to the DC3. We have two DHCP scope, one on each server with a different subnet. Can anyone point me towards a guide, or willing to advice me through the steps to do this?
