hardtailstar Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Get in there @Seb1780! I thought Al had made it up! He did, then went back in time and created a band, wrote a song, shot the video and uploaded to youtube many many years later..... 2
Seb1780 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Get in there @Seb1780! I thought Al had made it up! It was also the theme song (and title of) a quiz on the Radio One Road Show in the 80's. That was back in the days when Gary Glitter, Jimmy Saville, Dave Lee Travis et al used to tour the country every summer doing...... Oh! Perhaps we'd better not bring that up. 1

VeryPC Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 @VeryPC - Any chance I could get a VeryPC Memory stick ? We're dishing them out as little bonus prizes for certain announced contributions. Afraid we can't give them away just for asking or we'd probably end up with non left (we use them for customer driver packs with PC orders so we need to hang onto most of them). Sorry! Al

StevieM Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 You mean this:http://www.pure80spop.co.uk/soundquizzes/bits1.mp3 Quiz included. Props to anyone who gets all the answers right. Nice one, @sparkeh! These are the ones I know (without cheating): 1. Banana Republic by The Boomtown Rats 2. Don't know (but through my tinny laptop speakers it sounds a bit like David Sylvian and/or Japan) 3. Young at Heart by The Bluebells (as correctly identified by @Seb1780) 4. No idea 5. Gnnnrrrraammmmmnnnnggg! I know it, I know it! It's by Howard Jones but the title escapes me. Is it New Song? 6. I Want Candy by Bow Wow Wow (also correctly identified) 7. Calling All the Heroes by (I think) Big Audio Dynamite 8. I recognise it but can't remember. Something by Spandau Ballet, perhaps or Wet, Wet Wet? 9. At first I thought it was INXS but it's not. Don't know if it's called 'Ain't gonna work for you no more', but that's the most prominent line in the song. Was it Johnny Hates Jazz or something? No I don't think so. 10. Don't know. Candy Statton? I'll have another couple of listens before I search for the answers so don't give it away just yet, although you can let me know if I'm on the right lines with the ones I've had a stab at. 1
StevieM Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Wrong link ;P right link.... You're both wrong! Anyone else remember these? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmoSn02AAuA Edit: Actually put the video link in now! Edit of edit: No, this time. Really! Edited October 28, 2015 by StevieM 2
