Hi all,

Later this year our current AV contract will expire so im looking around at different packages.

Ideally what i would want is to have one box and one management console that could manage a central hardware firewall, enable us to encrypt emails from outlook, and manage desktop AVs.

Currently we've got three different systems with three different management software.

So far had a look at Sophos UTM and firewall. Looks good at the minute but wondered if anyone else had any other recommendations.

Thanks,

Dan

Thanks Hallb15.

Just reading about smoothwall. Looks good but its a shame they cant do endpoint protection also.

Am considering combining it with a email encryption and AV though from the reviews ive seen.

You could just buy the encryption option from Microsoft, through EES it's really cheap.

Google Forticlient.

That looks quite good.

We're very pleased with our Sophos UTM 550 so far. Firewall, content filtering, AV, and email protection are all good. With regards to email encryption you can get it to scan outgoing emails for personal data and either blocked or auto encrypt. My only issue with Sophos is with its implementation of RADIUS as we cannot do single sign on from Aruba.

Thanks SchoolsBroadband, will have a look into Forticlient.

p3t3r - One question i havnt got a answer to yet fromk Sophos is if the UTM box can manage AV updates on the clients and remote running scans etc. At the minute we have the Sophos management console on one of our server but hoping to be able to get rid of this.

Cheers

Hi.. Sophos UTM can manage endpoint protection but it's NOT recommend. I think the feature will be retired in UTM10.

Sophos recommend that users migration from the on prem management console to their cloud management console.

Kind regards
