acrobson Posted January 4, 2008 Author Posted January 4, 2008 I wouldn't get the Samsung G600, the screens break rediculously easily on these, and you'll not get much sympathy from samsung when they do! Had mine precisely 2 weeks before I managed to break it, back to my good old 3 year old D600 now, which is still soldiering on! Mike.Cheers, for that. Handy to know. torledo Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 I like my Blackbearry Pearl 8100 for checking up on emails etc and as a phone its relatively small and looks smart. +1 for the blackberry pearl. The N95 is definitely a multimedia/entertainment phone as opposed to business oriented, battery life is one of the few downers of the N95. Nokia E series area a good balance between compact size with business features. But if i had to choose i'd choose the blackberry.

Just a shame they are too stupid to realise there's a headphone socket on their shiny phones bought from the proceeds of our NI contributions.

Talking to some of the kids at my school & some of my daughter's friends, some parents don't seem to mind forking out £30-£40 a WEEK on credit for them for their phones....

john Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 I like the HTC phones, I have an XDA2 and love it, and when I change it, it will be for another HTC. I do also have a SE W810, but thats for music and more personal stuff but i seem to be just using it for more work stuff now.
meastaugh1 Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 I have an HTC branded as an orange SPVM600. It worked for the first couple of months, but I've had to send it back for repair three times in quick succession. I don't rate the speaker sounds quality highly either.

Revolutionary design and and elegant form factor crippled by glaring omissions and absurd restrictions. Wait for iPhone 2.0. The OS is still better than Symbian and light years ahead of Windows Mobile (i don't what i'd do if i had to use Windows Mobile on a day-to-day basis...probably top myself) but the whole package is a bit of a letdown.

In fairness I seem to remember our phone bill on the landline hitting £500 one momentous quarter when I was a teenager so I can see some parents counting their lucky stars

If I do the firmware upgrade am I going to see much difference between this and a proper 8 gig version that O2 dont seem to do (SO that will mean messing about changing providers).

SYNACK Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I am waiting for delivery of my new HTC S730 it has a full keyboard and Windows Mobile 6. Not a popular choice I know but it does mean that I can just whip up a .net app for it to grab data off our databases etc. Its major selling point for me however is the fact that it can play larger video files that most other phones wouldn't have a chance of. Good for when I get stuck taking the train for some reason.
