mikeprice Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Just installed the free version of Freshdesk - limited to three 'agents' i.e. people who can deal with problems but as there is only me that is all I needs The free version is limited but even so I have disabled a lot of facilities as I don't need them Seems enough for me so far!
rich_tech Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I used spiceworks here as a way of recording issues a while back, it was ok not brilliant though, we never rolled it out as it couldnt do SSO in a way that we wanted. I have manageengine installed now and it seems decent for the free version and allows importing from AD which is a bonus. I just use it internally as a test here atm though

Homer Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Has anybody got OSTicket to do LDAP Auth? Last time I tried I couldn't (although I didn't try hard) to get it do AD authentication for anybody logging in? Liking the look of OP Smart Desk though, not badly priced and very user friendly

More to do with our setup than spice works when I last looked at it, sso was fiddly here with leap, comparatively manageengine supports ad sync and I can import users with little fuss

elliot-w Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 We use Zendesk http://www.zendesk.com and havent had any problems with it since we started using it 3 years ago now. It's web based and cheap as chips if you just go for the starter edition which is all we use, it also has apps available for android and iOS which means you can pick up jobs on the go if needs be.
bharathipriya Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Try ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus. The product is free of cost and you can manage users, technicians and tickets without any limits. The standard edition is more than just a free help desk software. You get multi-site support, manage users from different departments, knowledge base, self service portal and help desk reporting. I'm a product specialist of ServiceDesk Plus and I work for ManageEngine.
jpaterson Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 We use ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus here. Have done for a few years now. Very good, fully featured product, but not cheap if you're needing more than 5 techs or want change management features etc. Looking at System Center Service Manager moving forwards.
