sted Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Automata is the only game I'm ok with having glitched achievements. You can just buy them post-game. [emoji14] fair point but if its glitched will they even pop? and as i bought a few on ps4 i want to actually do a legit 1000g run (or at least attempt it the exp+3 is helping might have to see if i can make an exp+5/6 but that means id have to ditch hacking or shockwave i expect though
sted Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 well some if not all (not sure yet so many are secret achievement its a bit hard to say) of the glitched nier automata achievements popped once i rebooted my xbox and was doing some cleanup to get all the endings. I now have 25 of the endings, levelled up to 99 have most of the weapons, beat 2 of the 3 dlc dungeons and beat spoiler (hence why im level 99 at l83 they were kicking my bum) just basically have the annoying achievements left i think things like fully upgrading all pods/weapons that just require rng luck with grinding and im still missing 2 weapons which you can buy but only again its a bit rng based store has to be in x location and even then its not a guarantee they will be in stock the level 99 probably helped i managed to make a expup+8 so for quite a lot of the game was getting double experience and before that i was getting 1.5x iirc and tehres an enemy you can farm for ~19000 xp even in the 80s i was gaining 3-6 levels per fight i think im actually going to manage to do it without buying achievements this time as it always felt slightly wrong buying them on ps4 esp as it was my 1st platinum if youre playing it on xbox DONT put console to standby with the game running close the game and shutdown the console properly it seems
Garacesh Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 Picked up Sundered on Friday, I'm around 7 hours in now and it's fantastic. It's a mix of Metroidvania and Roguelite-lite mechanics. Every time you venture into the caverns, swarms of enemies will appear at somewhat regular intervals, getting stronger and more plentiful until they eventually get the better of you. However, enemies drop shards, and each time you die you can spend those shards to permanently upgrade your character. Also, when you die, the map layout randomises a bit. The core structure/layout of the map stays the same, with sub-areas not getting any larger or smaller, but the exact layout within those areas changes. It's hard to explain, but it means routes change each 'life', but since the core structure is always the same, objectives are always in the same general area between lives. Also the map has shortcuts (some locked behind mechanisms like switches, others locked by abilities you may or may not have yet) so once you've been somewhere there's often a way to get there again without going the long way around. And of course, I said 'metroidvania', so there's a huge emphasis on exploring the map and finding new abilities. This is more of the Metroid-flavour new abilities where they're sat in a location until you physically find them, rather than the kill-a-boss-to-get-a-new-ability flavour. Plus, I can already tell that because of certain mechanics, I bet there's multiple endings. But I'm not going to go into any more detail about that coz spoilers.

May grab it myself, Read quickly that there are loads of endings apparently:D
Garacesh Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 (edited) May grab it myself [PALPATINE]Do it![/PALPATINE] I think my biggest criticism is that there is one ability that feels ridiculously broken, but I'm not going to tell you what it is Usually I'd be getting a new ability maybe every 2 hours, but after I got this one I'd grabbed the next two within an hour. Edit: It's entirely possible that I'm meant to do it like I did and it's just a change in pacing, though. Dunno. Edited July 9, 2018 by Garacesh 1
sted Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 got 1000 Gamerscore on nier automata on xbox one. This time I only bought 1 achievement (upgrade all pods to full) as I didn't want to just endless grind for rare materials. Also watched some documentaries on youtube about nier/nier automata, its surpsising what id picked up about the earlier game and how much lore it filled in for me (not that im going to play it going back to old games after starting with the sequel is often a bad experience esp when even the doc I was watching said the gameplay wasn't great in nier also finally made a decent start into persona 4 golden (yes I just said about going back but persona 5 isn't exactly stretching hardware limits on a ps4 like nier automata did to the point I upgraded to a pro during it to get some fps lol) got past the 1st main dungeon after a few wipes (thank f if you die it just resets you to the last floor again or id of lost the 2.5 hours dungeon crawling to get there as I died a few times till I started making new persona that made me resistant to the boss's main attacks though robbing my character of his ability to deal major damage) decided against octopath traveller for now everything I read says it good in short bursts so a chapter or so at a time do too much at once and its gets dull but that's not how I play games I just play them for hours at a time till ive had enough then stop
korifugi Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Due to it being a freebie on PSN, I've started playing Zero Time Dilemma on yon Vita. Boy this is dark, moral choices and deadly consequences. Nothing overly visceral (so far), but the mental ramifications of choices made mean this game really does live up to it's age rating.

sted Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 ghost recon wildlands? Fantastic gunplay and lots of fun to play. i will second that really enjoyed that game (never did complete it as it kept ramping the difficulty up near the end (basically when you get to max rank your next rank to get some perk you have to up the difficulty level) and i got to the point where id upped it slightly higher than my ability so i could eventually finish missions but having to do them repeatedly wore on me but i diddnt want to reduce my level as i liked the big sniper rifle i got as a perk (i think that was the perk). but spenf many a happy hour running round colombia shooting drug dealers from absurd range (i think i managed a 500m +head shot on one guard tower lol)
Patrick Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 goldeneye: source Is that mod still active with busy servers? I fancy a go!
rickjames Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 Getting sucked back into Overwatch, although not liking this drop into the 1800s
Garacesh Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 Haha I did the same when I re-calibrated last season. I was 2400's at one point. Now I'm Gold. I don't really find ranked as fun as it used to be, though. Too much solo mentality, not enough teamwork. Too many people flaming or throwing their toys out of the pram.
rickjames Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 I am merely level 41, placed at 1975 and have tanked to 1845. Do find it's a lot easier with the group option now though; find a group with a mic that needs a support role and I'm good. As the healer I don't really need to talk tooooo much, but communication makes a world of difference.
