pcstru Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Finish a game you say? Last games I bought : GTA V, followed a week or two later by Factorio [*1]. Relative scoreline : GTA V - 20 hours. Factorio - err .... 00. I can't remember who here pointed me in the direction of factorio but whoever you are I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!
X-13 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Bought Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom on PS4. So much fun. DLC is a ripoff though, £7.39 for literally 3 costumes.
foofighterjim Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Completed Forza 6 career (I don't touch multiplayer) and all non DLC on Goat Simulator with the exception of Flappy Bird. Despite the reviews I'm currently enjoying playing White Night now.
sted Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 bought tokyo mirage sessions #fe. Been debating it since before launch (and in the end needed to hook up an external hdd to the wiiu as it wouldnt fit on the 32gb space it has (its 16gb ish iirc) and bar a few minor annoyances its the first game in a long time ive really enjoyed playing to the point i will stop doing other things. ive managed since last monday to clock over 40 hours and thats not including times where ive not saved for 1/2 hour and died. The biggest annoyance i have is every time you win a battle as Tsubassa she spikes the camera with her boobs lol which while funny a few times eventually isnt
Tesla Posted September 5, 2016 Author Posted September 5, 2016 Completed Uncharted 4. May get Mirror's Edge Catalyst...
Garacesh Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 May get Mirror's Edge Catalyst... Bought that the other week as it was £20 off. The main story missions are good, but all the side missions are just "Run here in X time", and the time they allocate is A] ridiculously unforgiving and B] the runner vision will take you a way that takes too long. It gets pretty infuriating. One bad landing or missed wall-jump and you're not going to make it.
korifugi Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Over the holidays - I have gone through the following. Day of the Tentacle was on sale - Now completed (again!) Asassin's Creed: Unity - completed Continued carving my way through Skyrim on the PS3. Had a fun moment where I was continually being turned into a vampire by a glitch (stoppped that by taking the blood potions away from Serana!) Damn and curse the blummin' Daedric Weapons trophy though (Oblivion Walker). The trophy is glitched (badly) and refuses to ping for me. I'm not going to let this stand - already planning a run to get that trophy.
LeMarchand Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I didn't buy "This War of Mine" as I figured it would sit in the "to play" list for months if not years but it sounds fascinating and is £3.74 on Steam atm: Save 75% on This War of Mine on Steam
mdrabble Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Bought Division for Xbox one for £20 - must say I'm liking it at the moment.
LeMarchand Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 American McGee's Alice Was about to start in on the sequel when I noticed this was a free download. Not bad, though the bosses all followed the same pattern.
X-13 Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 American McGee's Alice Was about to start in on the sequel when I noticed this was a free download. Not bad, though the bosses all followed the same pattern. Que? OG Alice is free?
korifugi Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 American McGee's Alice Was about to start in on the sequel when I noticed this was a free download. Not bad, though the bosses all followed the same pattern. Que? OG Alice is free? If you manage to find Alice: Madness Returns for PS3 - the original comes with it. You'll love Madness Returns - an absolutely brilliant game. Oh, and finished Sherlock Holmes: The Devils Daughter.
Sagima Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Finished Dragon Age 3 and all of the DLC now. I couldn't face going back and redoing the whole thing again so I just played the 2 DLC one after the other and so I didn't get to enjoy the Trials option bonuses as I finished Descent before I got one (I enabled a few of them) and they don't affect Trespasser. Trespasser is the better of the two, Descent is interesting but it's not worth spending actual money on really and the end boss is a pita. (Jaws of Hakkon is probably slightly better than Descent but not as good as Trespasser). There's a GOTY version I'd recommend if you haven't played it yet otherwise just get Trespasser. Started playing Pillars of Eternity (also bought the 2 DLC). It's a bit like a very refined Baldur's Gate/BG2. So much so that every time I click on stairs/door/map exit I can hear "you must gather your party before venturing forth" in my head. Even the act transitions are similar - possibly voiced by the same guy (I haven't checked) I thought when I first started playing it that this would annoy me (as i've struggled revisiting BG2 since it was rereleased) but having played about 6 hours with it over the weekend (restarted 3 times) I'm ready for a proper play through now and am just at the designing my PC and choosing my companions stage of it which will probably last all week. I'm off Friday, although I do have to take my cat to the vet and get a mattress delivered) and have nothing to do Saturday and Sunday so I'll probably spend all my waking hours playing it then. I did cheat a bit and followed a guide to see where all the companions were so I could see who was worth getting - the best one is, irritatingly, the hardest to get quickly but only one of them really annoys me - Kana. Obviously I'll have to recruit him to do his quest but he's staying in the team for as short a time as possible.
korifugi Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 (edited) It's a bit like a very refined Baldur's Gate/BG2. Now all I can think of is: "Magic is impressive, but now Minsc leads - SWORDS FOR EVERYONE!" Edited September 12, 2016 by korifugi spelling
Sagima Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 IF it turns out minsc makes a cameo I may do a little dance. I suspect my miniature space pig if the closest I'm going to get to seeing him again. Go for the eyes Boo! Go for the eyes!
Tesla Posted September 12, 2016 Author Posted September 12, 2016 Got the free Rumble DLC for Rocket League the other day. It. Is. Crazy! Sooo much fun, i would have spent a good amount on this mode alone!
LeMarchand Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Que? OG Alice is free? If you manage to find Alice: Madness Returns for PS3 - the original comes with it. Yarp - got it for some ridiculously low price at some time not even realising that both games were included!
korifugi Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 After many swearwords, problems with trophy-breaking glitches and lots of dragon slaying, I've finally Platinumed Skyrim. My birthday also meant I got presented with Doom & Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
Tesla Posted September 26, 2016 Author Posted September 26, 2016 After many swearwords, problems with trophy-breaking glitches and lots of dragon slaying, I've finally Platinumed Skyrim. I restarted skyrim at some point last year (had various uncompleteable quests etc in the old one.) and then one of my favourite quests glitched, so i stopped playing (th eone wher eyou have to find who the murder is in ....Winterfell? It just won't start. Debating the HD remake, but from what i've heard, ps4 version wont support mods, which is annoying. Started Shadow of Mordor again last week, further now than i got playing it for two months a while ago. (and just got the season pass for a tenner)
korifugi Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 (edited) Loved Shadow of Mordor. Bit annoyed they reduced a very important section to a QTE though... (vague to avoid spoilers) Decided to hammer my way through Transistor. The music in this game is brilliant - fits the theme perfectly and often gives me goosebumps. Damned good game, too. ICTDirect_Dave Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 I recently bought Transformers: Devastation for PC. Found a Steam key for just £7. Mostly bought it because my four year old loves the Transformers G1 cartoon at the moment and he wanted to be Optimus Prime! It's actually quite a good game. A bit hack n slash, but lots of fun and plenty of original voice talent/robot designs. Happy days!
X-13 Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 A bit hack n slash, but lots of fun It's a character-action game. Like Bayonetta or Devil May Cry, they're all like that. IIRC, it was made by Platinum as well. They know character-action.
sted Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 finished tokyo mirage sessions #fe a few weeks back great game ending is a bit meh but i enjoyed playing it and will i suspect do it again one day (sunk about 70-80 hours into it and still missed stuff) also "finished" forza horizons 3 last night (in as much as i completed the final exhibition mission and got the end credits) and my warthog finally turned up and i found the robin regal van which sucks for drifting lol
ICTDirect_Dave Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 It's a character-action game. Like Bayonetta or Devil May Cry, they're all like that. IIRC, it was made by Platinum as well. They know character-action. Ahh that's what the kids are calling it these days? It's still basically 'mash the attack button when facing (mostly) toward the bad guy'. I always considered DMC to be a rather mindless hack n slash, but then I never really liked it as a game. However, take similar mechanics and give me transforming robots voiced by Peter cullen et all and i'm sold!
zebulunn Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I got my first platinum trophy yesterday, Valkyria Chronicles. It's a shame the new one is totally different gameplay wise.
