Christmas Spirit (lack of)

Having worked in schools for the past few years, I've come to realise that end of Autumn term causes a lot of people to become highly stressed out and liable to blow up at things that they'd normall just let go.

 

Luckily, I was on jury duty for past 2 weeks and am completely relaxed myself (apart from the memory troubles!) but this has not been so in previous years.

 

So I'd like to suggest from someone whoes been there and done that that any Edugeeker in this stressed out state, just takes a break from here for a couple of weeks, and comes back (or not) in the New Year after some quality time off (and lots of wine/port/drug of choice)

i'm suprised you remember it!. Seems like one of those good ideas you'd forget shortly after starting!

The other 'cocktail' we created was mixing anything with Blavod. Now, Blavod is a very dangerous drink, but hilarious, and turns green almost any other liquid (I'm pleased to say I never tried mixing Aftershock with Blavod)

 

green + alcohol = ALGAE-HOL!

well we were shocked, we actually got complimented on our christmas spirit. Could be because we have music on (not christmasy) have a box of sweets we are randomly offering and because I haven't hung my Christmas bear yet.

 

Aparently everyone else is boring Now considering the reputation we normally have I think this is quite impressive!

A friend had far too many of those strangely couloured alchopops one night (I think Bicardi Breezers, watermelon flavour). Was tremendously ill in her parents bathroom. around the loo was forever stained an luminous green colour. Knew they were toxic but that was just silly!

There is a simple get-round to the problem of staining carpets....

 

as we all know, you can use white wine to get rid of a red wine stain...

 

therefore if you drink a bottle of red wine, you should immediately drink an equal amount of white wine... thus, if you should vomit, it will be self-cleaning

I met db on the way out of a MS Conference last winter when I was full of flu and felt like death warmed up but my beloved EVO conference had to be attneded, and I chatted to him on the way to the carpark, very nice man and very much like Meatloaf (does he sing as well as he does btw) but no alcamahol there if your meaning he enjoys a nice drink or two

This is where working for yourself has its disadvantages... Distinct lack of invites to any Christmas do's because everything was actually working and I've not really been in any of the schools for most of this month aside from a couple of minor issues. *cue: stifled dramatic sob*

I can sympathise with that sentiment. I was a freelance photographer for 25 years. My Christmas do's (just me) were so poor that even I stopped attending.
