I did it - all my configuration was still there but had to do a "wsusutil /reset" to download all my updates again...

rickjames Posted May 28, 2015 Author Posted May 28, 2015 After messing about endlessly and installing via Powershell instead I seem to have got it working; well the post-installation setup didn't throw up any errors and WSUS opens up OK. Now to deal with 3275 security updates and 1550 critical ones for approval, a lot of which I'm sure are completely uneccessary.

This would be fantastic - I have to turn down Office 64bit, Windows 8 32bit etc., all of which I don't need. By the time I've phased out Windows 7 32bit completely, I'm probably going to need to rebuild my WSUS server to get rid of all that unwanted and now useless updates. Maybe that will happen in the next version of Server...

Not that I've seen in the WSUS console, and believe me I've poked and prodded everywhere. It's ok when manually dealing with updates, but highly annoying when any updates you've set an auto approve rule on downloads both architectures. I really wish 32bit would go away now....

Steve21 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Everything but "tools/drivers" there's a lot of rollups/hotfixes/silverlight etc that won't come down otherwise, yes you could use the individual updates, but much rather one massive update than 20 lil ones clogging stuff up More filtering it on product side.
