4 days of the game being released (as of Sunday) and I've collected almost every muscle car in the game. Just missing two now for my perfect garage. I think it's work a fair few million at the minute, which isn't bad to say I've made it without the preorder cash bonus. Started from the bottom now I'm here.

A nice way to make some money is steal a Baller or a Felon and sell it every 45 minutes for $9000, or a Felon GT for $9500

I have a 10 car garage full of Ballers that I've collected either in freeplay or during missions ready for some easy cash.

I stole a Sandking XL last night. Horribly impractical but once I get bulletproof tyres and the side tanks it will be my enormous mobile cover fortress for missions. :D

It really upsets me that you can't steal 'expensive' cars properly, I don't want to pay for them!

you also cant put cop cars in your garage which is annoying as well

@CAM I use the Vapid Guardian for just that. I noticed that I only had vehicles with two seats... so I invested 400k in what may as well be a mobile tank. Has some lovely chrome exhausts, bulletproof tires and certainly shows dominance on the road... It's also about 12 feet high.

@LiamHaith Bulletproof tyres on the Sandking alone are going to be 25k :( But the truck itself was stolen so only 8k tracker and insurance.

Bulletproofs on everything are $25k. I put them on my bike last night, then remembered they're more likely to shoot me than the wheels.

It's cost me about 500k so far in car upgrades.. only to lose them when I did my character transfer and overwrote the character :(

Oh BTW @CAM, I spoke to my guy.. the character's gone.

Ouch. They need to make it clear that they get deleted then! That sucks. :(

It's on the Social Club, it does say that it'll replace the character. I'll be back up to scratch in a week, faster if I get some Sharks...

Anyone experienced any bugs? On the first heist mission you do at the jewellers I found that when selecting the "clever approach" you ride your bike through the tunnels while escaping the police and then it switches characters to the driver driving the armoured truck, when I go to shoot from the vehicle is crashes, it's done it on some other missions too! I have also found at the moment that on the mission where you're lowered via helicopter down a building and you have to switch between characters to shoot from the sniper on the other building my game crashes then too every time :(

Plus the graphics are good but not the WOW factor I was expecting, I have it at 1080p everything at maximum, it looks.... "Meh" on my 4k display!

I'm currently unable to play at all, as my Rockstar Social Club account has been hacked and email/password changed. So, waiting on Rockstar Support to process my ticket! Quite annoyed as I just got my new graphics card and was hoping to enjoy a weekend of gaming! *grumble grumble*

On bugs - I've had the game crash a few times when I had shadow reflection MSAA set at 8X. Turning it down to 4X seems to have fixed it.

Ah! Gutted! Good old Rockstar Social Club  Hopefully you get it sorted soon though mate!

Thanks I'll give it a try. I found it was a nightmare for it to go fullscreen as well, I found TeamViewer when running in the background would stop it going full screen and you need to make sure your OS' display refresh rate is at the same refresh rate of that in the game for it to go full screen. They have a lot of errors to fix but it can all be worked around, just annoying!

My account recently logged out while I was playing "Logged in elsewhere" - I changed my password ASAP and I've been fine since, maybe those Rockstar compromised rumours were true after all.

@localzuk: Any idea yet how it was hacked? Recycled password? Primary E-Mail compromised?

Old account using a password from a long time ago, which apparently was on one of those "you've been hacked" lists. At least, I think that'll be it.

Its an entirely useless account to them. I've not played any of the online stuff, and it won't actually get them access to my GTA V license as that's in my Steam library which has 2 factor auth enabled. Just annoying really!

Speaking of bugs. I have an odd one, if I enter the game from a clean boot I get around 30-25 FPS... if I then go to my GFX settings and alter a single option which requires pressing 'X' and then 'A' to confirm my FPS will increase to 60 and pretty much stay at that until I exit and re-enter.

I know that depending on your graphics settings, the game will either be locked at 30fps or 60fps but I haven't read too much into it as my fps has been fine.

Avast users beware, GTA5.exe is being flagged as a false positive.

Also discovered you can shoot gas tanks in cars. On most vehicles it's just above and left of the rear left wheel arch. Significantly cuts the number of shots to destroy a vehicle, about 7-8 Desert Eagle shots.

Well, Rockstar have replied to my ticket - not had a chance to reply to that yet. Typical copy/paste response - stating that they might be able to help my having forgot my username and password if I can give them various details. Kinda ridiculous really as its nothing to do with forgetting anything. Also kinda ridiculous as they have all the details they asked for - DOB (is on the new account I set up to post the ticket), the account name and email address. So, basically a drone answered the ticket without reading it properly.

Could be worse, Frontier have only just replied to my Elite: Dangerous ticket after 6 and a half months!

There are many many problems with GTA V on pc:

  • A friend of mine crashes if he tries to shoot out of a car and when he changes sessions.
  • Changing game sessions in general is extremely unreliable, at times you simply can't change sessions.
  • Loading into GTA Online takes an unbelievable amount of time, it's actually quicker on my 360.
  • The loading times when spectating players are a joke, in some cases if you finish first in a big race you never get a chance to spectate because the player you would have been spectating has finished before it's loaded his view, so it tries to load the next player who then finishes etc. etc. So you just end up watching a black screen for the next 5 minutes.
  • The keyboard and mouse controls for flying are phenomenally bad, thankfully I have an Xbox One controller to use.
  • I'm not sure exactly what took them so long to release the game as graphically it isn't actually that big an improvement over the Xbox One/PS4 release, beyond the fact it can run at 1080p/60, the draw distance has been increased a bit and there is a new lighting engine which is nice. But other than that?

Just some of my complaints really, a bit of a disappointment given all the hype over the PC version. Don't get me wrong when the game works its fun and I enjoy it, but it definitely fell short of my expectations.

It's unfair to say that those problems are concrete as I only agree with maybe 2 or 3 points, here's my comments:

- My loading times for Online, Spectating etc are all totally acceptable - generally within 5 seconds. The only time it takes longer is when I alt-tab out of the game.

- Flying controls are indeed awful but I switch to gamepad or joystick for flying in every game ever anyway, I've never seen a game that uses mouse/keyboard for flying well.

- In terms of graphics, they're using an engine that's considerably old and pushed it to it's limits. When on absolute max settings it still looks better than most new games I have installed so I'm not complaining.

People were more hyped because they knew it would be a good port to PC rather than a whole new game.. and they didn't let down, usually PC ports from console are pretty shabby.

I got a text message from my mate there this morning, after our little chat on the way in, the false positive is now in their bug system :p

The problems I've listed are to my knowledge all extremely common, my game on a HDD loads quicker than my friends on a new SSD, so there is clearly some issue with it loading into GTA Online and spectating. Out of the 6 people I play with we all suffer this problem on a wide variety of hardware. There is also a known memory leak which drops performance after 3 - 4 hours of game play, though that doesn't seem related to this issue.

In general based on my experience I would say that the port was at best acceptable given the number of issues with GTA Online. It can't be described as a good port because the issues with GTA Online make it impossible to play with your friends at times. The other day one of our mates couldn't get into our session and we couldn't join his, but he could join random sessions. But we simply couldn't get to him, so in the end he spent an hour and a half rebooting, restarting and verifying the game data and finally he just gave up. And lets not forget the fact that anyone who didn't have a basic windows username consisting of letters and numbers couldn't even run the game for the first few days.

It might become a good port when they have patched it a few times, but so far they have been more concerned with fixing issues with the editor than anything else.
