I don't really know After the speed and ease of the OnePlus I feel I may be a bit spoilt now. I'd probably want something of a similar size and spec, so likely one of the flagships, though in the interest of cost, I may go with 'last years model' rather than the current ones.. But definitely has to be a comparable size. Going back to this XPERIA now it just feels so... small and insignificant. This is how I assume going back to 1080p from 1440p would feel.

 

So maybe something like the HTC One u wot M8, I do like HTC phones though I've heard a lot of the bendy complaints.. Haven't really looked into reviews that much yet, though, which is why I thought I'd nosey in here

How horribly weighed down is the interface? Specs wise it looks pretty nice (including microSD storage, would be a godsend after my 16GB Nexus 4), and its only £23 a month for £50 upfront (500mb data is plenty enough when I can't even load Google results in my hometown, signal is so poor), but I like my plain Android, and though I can replace the homescreen with the standard Google Now Launcher, I don't want the notifications etc. to be filled with guff. Never used an LG phone (apart from the N4) so I don't know if they're as bad as Samsung with TouchWiz etc.

@Arthur when updating my Nexus what is the best way to do this? Will it be ok when I've bought it to just do an OTA update or should I be wiping all the data before I update even though it'll be a brand new phone? Don't want to mess this one up!

^^ I would update it to 5.1 OTA then perform a factory reset to start from fresh. GF got a Nexus 6 yesterday and it is huge! However it is a nice weight and feels comfortable in your hand, i said i would never get a phone that big but i do actually really like it.

I moved from a Nexus 4 to the OnePlusOne

 

I did have an M8 for two weeks but hated it. The metal body did nothing for me. Horrible form factor - the screen was narrower than my N4. The power button in that ridiculous place at the top. Lovely bright screen though, and great touch response. Not to mention the speakers. Can't believe HTC have kept the form factor. Deal breaker for me. Didn't like sense either, and the discontinuation of the Play model is disappointing.

 

I'm happier with the OnePlusOne. Perfect screen size to me. Bright. Great battery life.

 

I'd be tempted by the Sonys but hate being locked in. The S6 looks very nice, maybe sufficiently de-bloated. I'd have to play. Didn't like the G3. No benefit to the greater pixel depth with subsequently reduced battery life.

Errrm so anyone thinking about a Nexus 6 be very careful. Just had mine delivered, took it out of the box and the plastic back of the case was peeling off. A simple push down seemed to do the trick but it seems to be a defect with the device itself. Something about Motorola's glue coming unstuck, I can get over it because it now seems to be holding when I've pushed it back in place and a bit of glue would rectify the issue though it is annoying on such a costly phone.

They are really well built and the gorilla glass is excellent.

 

I want an M9, but can't justify the cost as my M8 is only 12 months old. Although might purchase one while over in the states, because tech is way cheaper over there!!

 

I actually prefer all the HTC skin on android to the likes of Samsung...

 

(I've been an owner of HTC phones for 8 years now and I've convinced numerous people to get the One M8 - they were not disappointed)

Some of the caretakers superglue seems to have sorted it People are saying they're taking the phone back and getting one with the exact same issue so I can't be bothered. Also people are saying that it's the battery I don't think it is took the whole back cover off and re-superglued STRONG AS STEEL NOW! The battery didn't look like it was bulging at all.

 

But if I never type on here again you know it's because my hands been blown off.

I found the back came off my Nexus 7 very easily....

 

Flagship HTC's have exceptional build quality. One machined piece of METAL.... beautiful.

Took my phone back to carphone warehouse store and they just gave me another one there and then, didn't have to argue it or anything, I didn't even have to show them my receipt!!!!! Bit strange but the lad that served me looked about 16 and you could tell he was a student. Anyway I'm sorted now don't have any problems with my Nexus 6 very happy customer, it's surprising how much faster it feels than my Note 4!!!

@Arthur I haven't received any updates on my phone for Android 5.1 or even 5.0.1 for that matter, I'm on Three but the phone I've got is sim free. Any ideas on what I could do?

Yes which is why I was slightly siding towards HTC!

Samsung all well and good but after about a week the touchwiz OS slows down so much it's unreal!

And The build quality of the nexus doesn't seem to nice compared to HTC

Never used a HTC so can't comment. I just used to get sick of waiting for updates to come out. Nexus 6 is great build quality, I may have had some issues on the first one I had but this one is great, the metal frame feels lovely and the curved back fits in the palm of a hand snug so it doesn't move about, also like the iPhone the glass is slightly curved on the side of the screen so there's no sharp corners on the glass and with Lollipop in the works it makes for a truly lovely experience.

 

The dual stereo sound from the speakers is awesome as well and they're placed on the front something that a lot of phones are lacking today. I love it, going to upgrade it to 5.1 Lollipop tonight.

 

Smart watches are a waste of time imo, I've had the LG G Watch R, which was nice to look at but really I found myself using it less and less over the month I had it and it was problematic, felt buggy and laggy. Was a shame so I sent it back to Amazon and got a full refund waste of a lot of money but this is all my opinion.

That's what I wanted, a true Google experience but I've been majorly put of with the build, little things ( may seem big things to other people)

But I do love my HTC and that's two years old and still works as it first did!

 

And thanks for the smart watch advice, I might look into it a bit more, I was considering pebble steel. But will have to see.

That's the best way, wait for the first update that contacts all the bugs, once they've fixed that, because I've updated my HTC to lollipop and had a few problems since,

'Cos security, and 'cos the manufacturers that don't update quickly tend to be the ones that don't update for long - maybe a year's worth of updates tops. Plus the reason they're slow/lazy with updates is that it's so much work 'cos of all the stupid bloatware that I hate as well, so the quicker a phone gets updates, the quicker and less frustrating it will be to use day to day anyway.

cheers for heads up... mine was fine out the box before christmas but been in a case since. looked at it and it was peeling off :/ a firm push seems to have solved it at the moment.

 

EDIT: I have a LG G Watch, had it since launch. I use it everyday.

 

I guess its down to the user on how much they use it.
