Simcfc73 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Anyone else got this issue? I received a reply this morning from support. Thanks for your patience. After reviewing the information you provided, we believe that you may be affected by a known issue. This is a high priority issue that we're working to resolve as soon as possible. Here are some details about the issue: Description: We're investigating an issue where customers can't authorize GADS. How to diagnose: You will see authorization errors when running a GADS sync. When trying to authorize GADS, you will see an error saying "Connection failed" and "Exception: Unable to login". Logs may show errors like "google.usersyncapp.plugin.google.GoogleAuthenticationException: Unable to login" or like this: { "error": { "errors": [ { "domain": "global", "reason": "authError", "message": "Invalid Credentials", "locationType": "header", "location": "Authorization" } ], "code": 401, "message": "Invalid Credentials" } } Workaround: There's no workaround at this time - we are still investigating the issue. 1
Nick_Parker Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Howdy! I'm having the same issue, I contacted Google Support and they said there is a known issue impacting OAuth authentication that their engineers are busy working on at the moment. They are going to call me regarding the issue as soon as they have more news/updates/ETAs and I'll update this thread
InterwebsGuy Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 We are having the issue too. I've spent ages trying to work out what is wrong now! Then I came across: GADS error: Connecting to Google App Server using admin credentials... - ClassThink.com As above, a known issue.
fairm010 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 IN the same way they're working on Youtube for School sign in? 1
edublogger Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Loads of our readers are reporting exactly the same problem. Google still don't have a fix for it at time of writing. More info here: GADS error: Connecting to Google App Server using admin credentials... - ClassThink.com
asheppard Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Yep having the same the same issue since this morning running GADS on Linux.
IrritableTech Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 We'll all presumably get the same email at the same time once it's fixed - but if not I'll post back. 1
ForgotMyPassword Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 We're centrally supported so I don't have direct contact with Google - would someone mind posting here when it's fixed as it'll be doubtless faster than waiting for our central support team
DMcCoy Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I was fighting with this oauth issue yesterday while trying to upgrade GADS to version 4. Reverted back to version 3 in the end, just tried it and it works fine today too.
rob_coles Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 ^ don't suppose you have a copy of the older installer?
IrritableTech Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Our XML file isn't compatible with v3 - tried removing GADS entirely (because it seems the update process from 4.0.1 to 4.0.3 doesn't entirely get rid of the former) and installing v3.something then upgrading through the update tool. Still getting the same error. :-(

rob_coles Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Oh well will await a fix from Google. Thanks anyway
Simcfc73 Posted March 12, 2015 Author Posted March 12, 2015 Just tried it now and its working, haven't got a email from Google yet but the authroize button worked and GADS synched correctly.
aleach2 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 And here. Google just phoned me to test GADS on our site. It's not "officially" working as yet but the support person was quietly confident that it would remain working.

I am glad that you are now able to use Google Apps Directory Sync. As we talked on the phone I will leave this case open since there isn't an official statement regarding this issue. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.
IrritableTech Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Just had the following... We have identified a cause of the authorization failures GADS has been experiencing. We are currently in the process of releasing a change, and we expect to resolve the authorization issues within the next hour. We will provide more information into the root cause once we have completed our full investigation.
