Currently looking at getting some reconditioned servers to use primarily for testing. Found what look like lots of good deals on eBay from a company called 1st Technologies Ltd trading as Bargain Hardware from Preston.

Has anyone used them before and what are your thoughts please?

Thanks,

Excellent company, service is great - I bought a Dell PowerEdge C6100 off them a year or so ago and they knew enough about the hardware to be able to answer questions and check it was the right peice of equipment for me. Do remember that any rack servers you buy probably won't come with any rack-mount rails included, you'll have to buy those as separate items.

Hi guys!

Bargain Hardware is our SME and private sales department.

You lovely people can come direct to me for the same pricing as you'll find on the BH website, but buying from ICT Direct will get you access to our extended warranties (min 2 years desktops & servers, min 1 Year laptops).

Additionally, I'll be able to offer solutions that come complete with rack rails, either the manufactuer originals or the excellent aftermarket options provided by Racksolutions.

It's also worth noting that we offer credit to schools and colleges whilst BH are strictly payment in advance.

So if there's a Bargain Hardware server or workstation that you like, drop me a PM and I'll make sure we get you the same price but with that warranty included :)

Another +1 for Bargain Hardware/ICT Direct/1st Technology.

Great products, great prices and better customer service.

I'm putting almost all of my hardware purchases their way at the moment, both for budgetary reasons and because I simply don't need anything posher!

Oh I see, I didn't realise that was ICTDirect.

That's really good to know, there are some good deals going on the BH site but our Business Manager didn't like the idea of spending anything over a few ££'s on the school card.

This will make things much easier.

Thanks everyone.
