Tesla Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 as title suggests, anyone used these guys? they had a stall up at BETT this year, but can't see on here if anyones used them. Thanks
truebluesteve Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I think we may have used them in the past not sure. If its lamps you want (i.e. without the housing) then it might be worth looking at http://www.interlight.biz who are based in the US You need the details of the lamp (which should be on it) but we get our Sahara Projector lamps through them at about half the the UK price. There is shipping and duty to take into account but it has always worked out cheaper and they arrive as quickly as ones we have purchased in the UK! They do complete the complete assemblies too but I don't know how their prices compare to UK suppliers
eyetea Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I've looked at using them but haven't done so yet. A colleague here passed my their info (and a discount code on a chip, I assume you have one too?). Would be nice to know if anyone has used them! 1
alfatec Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Yes used them twice after visiting the Bett show. Got a UF75 and UF55 bulb delivered within 2 days of ordering and they were about 50% cheaper. Quality of bulbs looks good and all seems to be working fine. Obviously not sure about longevity yet but so far very happy with them. 2
fairm010 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Yep. Came across a flyer that I must have picked up at BETT accidentally when one of our lamps blew. Fired them an email and they were cheaper that AVPartsmaster so we ordered. Lamp works perfectly. 1
fairm010 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Ours was a compatible although looked identical to the OEM. Can't comment on lamp life as it is still working! 1
Clevertouch_Rob Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Interesting! i just did a bit of Googleing and came across this http://www.genuinelamps.org/ - seems there is a bit of a hot topic between OEM and copies.
jmak Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 The last couple I've bought were from Roche AV. I went with their compatible lamps as they offer a two year guarantee. They happened to be out of stock at the time, so I have OEM lamps at a lower price with a 2 year guarantee. I've bought projectors from them and always been impressed with service and price. http://www.rocheav.co.uk/products/projector_lamps
timbo343 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Weve used them in the past, only once though as we have started to chnage projectors with dying bulbs as the projectors are so old. The bulbs seem ok, it does the job and is still working. I cant remember when we purchased the bulb though, it must have been at least a year ago though.
Huddlestone92 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Used them only once recently after receiving a flyer at BETT. Ordered a PJD5126 bulb, was told it was currently out of stock and to expect delivery in 7/10 days. Would Recommend.
Zourous Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Not going too well so far. 1st lamp that came was the wrong model. Sent that back. The replacement then came lasted a few days then blew. Sent that back. Replacement then worked. Ordered another bulb, lasted a few weeks and now going to send back again. They were cheaper than my previous supplier, but not cheaper if I have to keep sending back. Am I just unlucky? I'm thinking about reverting back to my previous supplier. Any other experiences??
Oaktech Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I've decided life is to short for compatible bulbs. I get all genuine and I buy them from Futurform who do me a blinding deal.
