I'm busy doing ALOT of stuff on the live servers right now, I just managed to start ratting, and cloaking, and my Fcing yesterday... you'd have loved it. We had SUCH a good brawl and even though we welped, we came out on top expense wise, and I led it quite well also. Everyone was happy that we gave MoA a really close fight despite the fact their entire fleet was Oneris (sp?) and Augurer Navy Issues compared to our T1 Frigs/Caracals

Domo Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 so, i resubbed last night (or rather i made my friend buy me a plex ) because of this thread and the fact my friends still play. currently training so i can use a Domi to rat in our C3 and C4 wormholes Not far off using it actually, seeing as i was training drones etc for a Gila fit before i unsubbed xD

Done boats are fotm right now and the Gila/Domi/Ishtar are the best ships for pve, and in fleet fights pvp, Domi gives more bang for the buck than the other 2 and is easier to fit well with lower sp chars. Bear in mind if you are training sentry drones the nerf bat is swinginging in their direction, if you want to be on the loving end of the meta it looks like missile boats are getting the love right now (Caldari ftw!)

I am training sentry's atm actually... good job my character is otherwise trained entirely in caldari/missiles haha

Aye that's true, but a Domi against C4 sleepers won't work well I don't think.. especially since they love to eat up drones for breakfast. Unless @Domo is very good at management

localzuk Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Our corp always liked a Drake pilot or 2. They were great to use as bait in wormholes. You could make them tough as nails, so they could take a beating whilst waiting for the rest of the fleet to warp in.

But sadly if you take just a single BC then everyone knows you're probably passive tanked and FCing and thus they WILL attempt to headshot you, when you're "kitchen sinkin'" and thus have zero to few logi... it only works so well for a short period of time, especially when the people who I pick fights with KNOW we love Shield tanking and they fetch Mjolnir missiles specially to screw us over

LiamH Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Most Fc's fly line ships with a heavier tank to blend in with the masses, However once they know who the fc's are they will just headshot you anyway. Unless they want content and then they quite often leave you alone so you continue to fight.

Either by being well known as the FC (see RVB Ganked where it's basically public knowledge who's running their fleets) or spies in the opposite side (happens a lot in null sec).
LiamHaith Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 There's a few ways, - If you're "blobbing" and only have a single anchor point (the central guy is PROBABLY the FC) - Basic knowledge of regular FCs for that Corp/Alliance - Flying a ship that's out of line with the noticed doctrine (A drake in a Cruiser/Destroyer/Frigate Doctrine) - Flying a ship that's the only one of its kind and is tankier (in EHP terms) than the others - Being the first to yellow box (Alot of FCs will lock, THEN call primary) - Noticing much less damage coming from a particular assailant (FCs regularly use smaller guns with LONG RANGE ammo to get on killmail, without needing big DPS since their CPU etc is used on tank) - Pre-Fight checking who the Logis are staying super close/Pre-repping (to test F1 works?) - A single guy (maybe with a few Logi following him) massively out of position from the rest of the "blob"

Just create an alt to sit in the corp and hold if for you and then go off and have some fun. Would be a waste to liquidate it after all you went through to set it up!

Garacesh Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 Let's not be silly now. It sometimes struggles playing DOTA, which, by virtue of being Source, is mostly CPU intensive. So I'm not bothering with EVE on it. This card was abuuuusssseeeeed before I inherited it.
