We found that we could not view remote station or make changes to Impero groups. A quick look at the Impero server gave us the answer:

At the server we selected 'Settings' then 'Console access rights'

From there we corrected the permissions for each user we wanted to allow access to the console. We then clicked 'Apply'

We now have Impero working again. Hopefully this will help others with Impero.

we had the same the other morning, it was after we had done the usual holiday windows updates on the server that the Impero Server is on, restarted the server and all of the permissions had to be reset. Not a massive issue but a strange one.

Update: This morning we found that Impero would not work because 'our trial period had expired'

At the server I re-entered the school name, our Impero activation code and password and things were working again. Odd though.

Server activity this morning: Restarted after a Microsoft update.

Is it a virtual server? Could the MAC address have changed?

It is a virtual server. However I don't know what the MAC address 'was' so I guess I can't check if it has changed?

We had the very same happen to us and a call to Impero revealed that they had changed how the software activates on their back-end activation server(s).

Unfortunately for us however, we have a much older version - due to us being unable to afford the support contract - which will no longer activate based on the update they've done, though they assure us they are making changes which will allow us to re-activate at some point soon.

If virtual server then make sure that mac address is not set to dynamic and that you fix it to single core if got clusters involved etc.

We have had this happen several times with the licence period expires. We also lost all our room set up

You might be able to recover your room setup with Impero Backup and Restore?

At the server select 'Tools' and then 'Backup and Restore'
