ANME - Not just for "Official" NM's...

Hi All,

 

Just wanted clarify that the ANME isn't just for people who have the official title/role of Network Manager (or equivalent)... Anyone who is responsible for the IT on that level in their schools is welcome to join... we have quite a lot of techies as well as NM's as members... of the 200+ members, there are 61 different job titles ranging from Directors of IT / Strategic IT etc. through to IT Technicians...

 

Also, the next North West meeting is on the 19th March - invitations went out to members yesterday, but we'll send invitations to new members as you join, and we've announced the date of Meeting 04 too - Thursday 25 June... Association of Network Managers in Education ANME

lol cool :-) just makes it easier to identify members when they join the private forum - and lets us build stats about how many of our members on EduGeek - it's been at 70% for a while now...

I applied a few days ago, however I am working in the US now so would be unable to attend meetings. Thought it might be useful to have some input about how its done "over the pond" though.

lol it took us ages to think of an appropriate name we liked... ANME wasn't the first... We've not been going a year yet, and it would cost too much getting things changed... Plus that may make IT/Computing teachers think it's for them too lol

 

I kinda like the name ANME, and the logo... and we are for people who manage the networks, whether they've got that in their title or not... We'll just emphasise that more in future literature etc. thanks to @witch for suggesting making it clearer...
