Arreks Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Went around the town over the wekened looking for sofas, best one at a good price we could find was one from Ikea (surprisingly comfortable) brown leather 3 seater, £400. will probably order that. MARHOLMA Three-seat sofa - IKEA That's a 2 seater max IMO! though I do like my space..
LeMarchand Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) If you've had or had more than a passing acquaintance with leather sofas before, you know what you're getting into - so ignore the rest of this post. Otherwise: Leather sofas look good and are (usually) long-lasting and will survive light spills; however you can find that you have to peel yourself off them in summer. Plus: f@rty noises when you shift position. Just noticed: only 18% leather fibres, so maybe the above won't be a problem. Edited February 10, 2015 by LeMarchand

Na, its sizeable (i have only sat in the two seater version though, as the 3 seater is up on display up on the wall...) but its definitely noticeably bigger. Also @LeMarchand , other half's family has aleather sofa, so im used to it

We have been looking to replace ours as we need a sofa bed for the front room. Currently have 2 2seaters but the price of sofa beds are a bit much for something which wouldn't be used too much. We need it for when the in-laws come to visit mostly.

Listed a few plus points up thread. Easy to convert to bed (and can keep bedding in "chaise" part): Only slept on it a couple of times myself (fine). Bonus daughter #1 has used it a few times without complaint - and she insists on moving all the clocks out of the room as their ticking keeps her awake and drapes stuff in front of any LEDs that are lit overnight, so I'm going to go with comfortable! This was one of those purchases that I suspected Mme LeMarchand would find fault with after a few months, but she's still happy with it! 1

Which to be fair is what we need as it means we can have 4 people sit down when we have visitors.

The furniture usually has some kind of mark or imperfection on it (but I can never find one!)or is an order that wasn't shipped in the end etc. They make furniture for a lot of the big companies. The only thing is you just have to go and see on the Saturday what they have but the savings are substantial usually with 50% off not being uncommon in the past and cushions thrown in sometimes that cost £30-50 a piece.

Being collected and stored today. Luck of the draw there.

Saw a nice one in DFS at weekend but thats shot up to full price now, wonder how long the offer cycles are on their products.... looked at SCS but their prices are very confusing, they list the "offer price" which is the price of that item if you buy another item in the same range. so gets confusing. Don't like scatter backs, either.

Did visit Sofology, didn't really like the look of what they had in there TBH. also just to add (not to your post but in general) i won't buy a sofa online unless i've sat in one in a showroom

Tesla Posted June 8, 2016 Author Posted June 8, 2016 Ahh, the OH wishes to have a corner Sofa, in order to free up the room slightly (currently have a 3 seater and two single seaters,) we have family over quite regularly so want to get a corner sofa and maybe a small swivel chair for one side of the room (my attempts to get a bean bag have yet to be successful....)
