Popular Post Dos_Box Posted January 26, 2015 Popular Post Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) It’s over once more for us here at EduGeek and all that remains is for us to thank those who helped us out and made our day(s) for this year’s show @smoothwall For playing host to us on their stand and organising everything for us. It went so smoothly this year (thanks Jordan) . It was great to see you all again, and in most cases all too briefly. We’ll have to pop over to Leeds in the near future for a more social visit. @ict-direct Thanks for bringing down our lanyards. Again, another company we didn’t get to spend enough time with this year. @VeryPC For the very nice prizes (we shall be sorting out delivery of these to our winners this week) and emergency socks! It was fun seeing how many visitors to the stand were already wearing Socktober socks! We’ll sort out the VeryPC/EduGeek socks for those who want them as soon as we can @Net-Ctrl For help with the Ruckus kit, Grolsch and letting us adopt EduDog. I think @Joanne has become quite attached to him already. @SchoolsBroadband For the router and taking the trouble to bring it to BETT for us. @Millgate Just for the amazing stand and ‘refreshments’ amongst other things. @elsiegee40 For dedicating so much time to the Female Techs Group. We didn’t know so many of you out there were girls! @witch For homemade HobNobs. Yummy! @john For giving us a place to put the VeryPC prizes after the show. Mysterious food leaving people! If you were one of those who left food for us in the shape of HobNobs, cheesy biscuits, Cadbury fingers and drinks please let us know here so we can thank you properly. They came in very useful each day when our energies were flagging. Impero Doughnuts! Enough said. Our stand staff: For taking time out once more and subjecting yourselves to 4 days of frantic activity and below-par diet In particular thanks go to @Joanne and @DaveP for volunteering to join us for the first time. We hope you had fun guys Down here but by no means least, you, our members: We had issued 270 raffle tickets, gave away over 330 ‘EduGeek AFK’ badges and 700 lanyards and between you had eaten 30 pizzas on the stand over the course of the 4 days. Yes, we were busy this year and to see you all is, as always, a great pleasure It was also very, very nice to see so many of you finally pluck up the courage to come and speak with us this time. See we don’t bite! And to all of the self-confessed lurkers who came by to say ‘Hi’ we were genuinely shocked to see how many of you there were! And finally: Our sponsors and other visitors who came by to see us, or we didn't get chance to see during the week, or had forgotten to thank above. Thank you for your time and chat. It's what we are here for And just to close, I'd like to say just how impressed we were that so many of you who had never previously plucked up the courage to speak to us or had just done a 'drive-by' in previous years had finally taken time out to chat. It's what we are at BETT for, to meet you guys and to try and get members to put real names and faces to other members. We are a community, not just a faceless forum. See you next year, or if you are in N America and going to ISTE, we'll see you there Edited January 27, 2015 by elsiegee40 8

Also got offered a hob nob by I think @Little-Miss but she seamed shy?

X-13 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Also got offered a hob nob by I think @Little-Miss but she seamed shy? Then that wasn't @Little-Miss. Also, thanks to @DaveP for becoming future Dave so I could be the less beardy Dave from the past... [it makes sense in context... but you get no explanation.] And thanks to everyone at the stand for not telling me to go away.
elsiegee40 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 And thanks to everyone at the stand for not telling me to go away. If we hadn't lost our voices, we might have tried! We needed to preserve what little croak we had left.

stevejp Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Not my first BETT, but my first as a member of the edugeek family! Thanks in particular to Elsiegee40 for making me feel so welcome on Saturday. With ref to Dos Box's first post, does this mean that there are some more socks up for grabs? There weren't any there when I stopped by, and I would so love a pair...(creep, grovel, etc etc) 1
stevejp Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 ...and I even had the courage to admit that I was a (looks round furtively and drops voice to a whisper) 'teacher' - and no-one hit me!
abillybob Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Had a lovely time at my first Bett show, sometimes it can be quite over whelming with so many people and such a big place to get around it's nice to know you guys are there as a safe haven for a few moments!! It was lovely to put faces to EduNames and look forward to seeing you all again soon. Hope you all had a great time also!!! 1

foofighterjim Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Good to meet @elsiegee40 and @Little-Miss. Sorry if I'm forgetting anyone else I spoke to at the Edugeek stand, I'm rubbish with real names let alone screen names. Thanks for the eduhobnobs and the Pizza, that kept me going well into the evening. Also managed to have a good chat with @russdev too. 1
