Hi all,

More Ipad confusion..... someone please help :(:(:(

(I cant try this at the moment cos I'm STILL waiting for my VPP code from crApple).

1. With VPP registered in Meraki, can I push apps out without the user having to enter a password to install.

2. Must I have a credit card verified apple ID on the ipads for the pushed apps to install.

3. When you deployed your ipads, if staff members created their own ID what did you do about the credit card requirement to first use the ID.

Cheers in advance ; )

we buy the apps with an id we created specifically for it, then the apps pushed out. as the app is already paid for it just goes. The users own apple id they can then use to download free apps with. we only deal with apps with a cost.

+1 @Tammie I used that guide too and it works well. You do not need a credit card verified Apple ID on each iPad because as soon as you do step 4 in the Meraki guide (assigning VPP app licences to a user) the app shows up in the user's purchase history. You can go in to the App Store on the iPad and download the app from there, it shows up with the cloud download symbol. Or move on the step 5 to push the app out from Meraki. Whichever way you install the app on the iPad, you do not need the iPad's Apple ID to have credit card details.

In the way I did it (with the link) I did have to enter in an ID once at the start because the app licences were granted to that ID, so it needed to be associated with the iPad. Once I did it though, I didn't need to enter it again or put in the ID password for each app.

1 - If you are VPP registered you can push apps without having a password popping up.

To do so you need to take your VPP token from the VPP website, and link it to Meraki in the VPP tab. Once the link is enable you will be able to purchase apps on the VPP store, refresh meraki VPP and see the apps your purchase.

Now you need to add user and list the apple account they are using. Once you add the users to Meraki VPP you need to invite them, they click on the link they received via email and log on to iTunes once. Only then you can push apps to them

2 - No need of a credit card for teachers or students.

3 - If teachers create their ID like here in my school, ask them to open the appstore, purchase a free app and create the account so they can have the option to select NONE as payment option. Some teachers didn't follow my steps properly so they added their credit card and we took it off just after the account was setup.
