Arreks Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 My YBR, wont have her for long though as I am buying my first 600cc next month. All the YBRs I see never have that plastic guard at the front, how comes yours and @Bompalompalomp 's does?
Andrew_C Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Nose cone fairing? Should put the wind up and over your head. Mine puts it straight into my chest.
Dos_Box Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I miss motrobike. I've had a Suzuki Intruder 800 and Kawazaki ZZR600 in the days before I had to wear a suit to work. Nowadays I ride this: A Kona Caldera, which, when we're not having 50mph winds and sudden snow showers I ride to work each day.
Bompalompalomp Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 All the YBRs I see never have that plastic guard at the front, how comes yours and @Bompalompalomp 's does? The 2014 model has it stock as well as a different headlight, the older ones like pictured are an additional option.
Miscbrah Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Am I allowed to be riding a heated leather car seat?
Mark182 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Here is my view from my minus 2°C ride yesterday! 1
chilbs Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Trek EX8 Terry Dolan custom built road bike Diamond Back (something to get to work and back, cost me £10)
burnsyb0y Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Sorry for the late reply, was an extra. has since cracked and been removed now. Ordering either a derbi gpr125 or a yam yzf125r today or tomorrow, Decisions decisions!
Oaktech Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015 Sorry for the late reply, was an extra. has since cracked and been removed now. Ordering either a derbi gpr125 or a yam yzf125r today or tomorrow, Decisions decisions! Tough choice... I really like the Derbi... Another to consider might the Rieju RS3?
burnsyb0y Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Had my eye on them for a while but I cannot find a dealer that stocks rieju using a finance company that would approve me. Ever owned any derbi bikes? I know they are Spanish, not Chinese but im worried its gonna snap in half after a year if i go for it.
Oaktech Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015 I've never had one personally, but I've had a few friends that have, they've been pretty good, but the one comment I would make is that the derbi seems more prone to corrosion on some of the ali parts than other bikes, but much less than the chinese bikes. My friend who had the previous model gpr and before that a senda used to use protector spray and used to keep it under a cover and the corrosion stopped. Parts backup is good on the derbi too. 1
burnsyb0y Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Just applied for finance on one through j&s motorcycles. Fingers crossed!! 1
frazzlesgrant Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I ride a 2007 kawasaki KLE500 pretty good bike
Arreks Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 All these nice bikes being posted makes me want to hurry up and take my CBT - but I really don't want to do it in winter, knowing my luck it'll be icy or snowing when I do it!
burnsyb0y Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) I done mine this time last year, the instructor wont take you out if the conditions are dangerous. If you can learn to ride in the cold and snow you can ride in any condition Edited February 4, 2015 by burnsyb0y
pcstru Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Currently riding this Very nice. I was surprised when I rode one how much the torque wanted to tip the bike. My nice little flat four (at the time) didn't do that.
nikaso Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Very nice. I was surprised when I rode one how much the torque wanted to tip the bike. My nice little flat four (at the time) didn't do that. Yes, I'm very happy with it, it's not the swiftest beast but the torque will do the overtaking job and it's really comfy as well. Bloody heavy compared to my F650GS before though!
haldarulon Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Currently riding an r46 only upgrades are tiny wing mirrors, brake levers, hugger all carbon will update with a pic after its had a wash! Did used to ride a drz450 completely stock! Absolutely brilliant bike, but rubbish on A3 worried I would blow engine at 90mph because it's just not made for it!
mikkydoos Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Did my CBT last year. Need to do my full test. Still haven't bought a 125 ; (
Arreks Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Did my CBT last year. Need to do my full test. Still haven't bought a 125 ; ( So are you not riding anything atm? I'll probably do my CBT this month or the month after, undecided as to what 125 to save up for! probably will go for a Yamaha (YBR seems popular?) or a Honda.
mikkydoos Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 No. YBR's are popular. Nice to ride too. Nice and light. My mate has got an old Yammy TW125. That rides really really nice. Lacking in ooomph tho' - 125cc
pcstru Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Currently riding an r46 only upgrades are tiny wing mirrors, brake levers, hugger all carbon will update with a pic after its had a wash! Very nice (again)! I gave up my pocket rocket (2005 CBR600) a few years back. I think the typical Japanese straight 4 600's are almost perfect tools for the road, I just can't persuade my back of that. I kept my MT03, which is fun enough and better for my back, but sadly it's SORN at the moment and I think it will be a case of getting it an MOT and then selling it at which point I think that will possibly be the end of me and Motorbikes :-(.
arwen Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Currently riding this My Partner has the 1150 Adventure, it is super comfy, although he does have to stop at high kerbs and slopes so I can get on/off it as it is so tall! I will be doing my CBT either this month or next, and picking up one of these little beauties :- Honda MSX125
