burnsyb0y Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Nice, Hope you get a quick sale on the triple mate they are lovely bikes! Went down to my local Triumph dealer the other day and fell in love with 2015 Thruxton.
diddylord Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Yes it is fantastic fun, but hoping the tiger will be as well, have to say the Thruxtons do look really nice
burnsyb0y Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 To be fair Triumph do not make a bike that I do not like
diddylord Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Both very good bikes, take you pick on which you prefer tbh 1
burnsyb0y Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I personally love my Yamaha bikes. I had a YBR as a commuter and it was way comfier and more reliable than my mates CBF. And with the sport style bikes the YZFf is bigger and faster than the CBR. The Yamahas are only slightly better than hondas in my opinion though, wont make much difference regardless of what you get if you are commuting.
burnsyb0y Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Either, just not Chinese. +1 sums it up! I made the mistake of getting an AJS chopper as my first bike, it never worked properly and pushed me to buy Japanese.
bald_pig Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I never had a problem with my AJS, until I borked the brakes
Oaktech Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 Google image but this is mine, muddy fox hypersonic, Well overdue a bike, any decent recommendation? This is a 26" but I need a 29er now! Any ideas for a new bike? If you've got enough cash, I have a mate who might well be selling a full carbon santa-cruz tallboy 29er that's only been used about half a dozen times.
arwen Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 So I passed my CBT on sunday, was loads of fun, really enjoyed it The local Honda dealer phoned me back on Monday about getting a white or yellow MSX125... up to a 3 month wait for one so I'm now on the hunt for any that are close by :-/ Really looking forward to getting my own two wheels!

How much is he after? Cause I am looking for a new bike, possibly picking one up in the half term holiday! My bike doesn't look like that picture any more. It's got no handbar grips, no gear shifters and no derailiers at all! Absolute nightmare
pcstru Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 So I passed my CBT on sunday, was loads of fun, really enjoyed it Congratulations! 1
Arreks Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 So I passed my CBT on sunday, was loads of fun, really enjoyed it Congrats! I'll be doing mine in a few weeks, any tips? 1
arwen Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Congrats! I'll be doing mine in a few weeks, any tips? Keep your head up and looking where you want to go. Don't look down unless you feel like having a wee lie down ;-) Keep your upper body relaxed and don't death grip the bars. You don't actually have to hold on, more like just keeping your hands resting on the bars. Otherwise you end up "fighting" with the bike when you try to turn, or veer off to the side when you want to go straight. Using your hips to turn the bike when you want to turn also works wonders. It helps a lot if you already drive and know how a clutch works. Have a look at the DVLA youtube videos for an idea of what you will be doing - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpB-1KQc7U11jl-7YzedxFQ Learn 2 ride videos are also pretty good too - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFaDerm3Qe4SzAJreaYmL6Q

I think he paid nearly 5k for it less than 6 months ago, but now he has a house, and less available funds! I shall ask and see what he says.
ConnorByrne Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Yes that's great cheers, and yes I know they are pricey, I have budgeted myself to around 2k for everything, so I presume he wants more than that for it so I wouldn't worry asking him. Thanks through [emoji108] I have spotted quite a nice carerra for half my budget which I'm keeping a close eye on. Or maybe even a Saracen MTB.
diddylord Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Very nice, they look really gd fun, pic of my current collection after cleaning then at the weekend :-D
pcstru Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Finally got my wee bike, having lots of fun with it! Nice. Have fun but do take care.

diddylord Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Had to Honda years and used to commuter daily on it plus touring, Street triple is a weekend toy and the tiger I've just bought to take over from the Honda as now going further and ridding two up a bit as well. Enjoy that little Honda.
arwen Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Ahh nice. Hope you enjoy the tiger, they look really nice in my opinion. Hoping the wind will calm down and I can bring my bike to work tomorrow rather than bring the car... Grr to Scottish weather!
