AC Unity PC

Has anyone tried Assassins Creed Unity on PC yet? People say it has got stupid hardware requirements and it's badly optisimed. I want to get it but I'm not paying for a broken game.. Any experience with it?

I've also read its badly optimized not just on pc but consoles as well... I think the PS4 version had a 1Gb patch made available to it.

This is fcuking bullcrap from Ubisoft! How can they release an unfinished game? I mean- look at Batman Arkham Origins- wide open spaces and everything is silky smooth. Let me know how you get on- what computer specs have you got?

Rampage Extreme 2011 socket

16gb Corsair Dom Red @ 1866mhz (seems to fall over after 2133mhz, new ram inbound!)

GTX 780ti x2 clocks OC'd to 110mhz more.

NZXT 1000w Modular psu

Evo pro 120ssd boot

evo pro 250gb ssd storage

CPU WC (GPU once i find a decent block)

Phantom Enthusiast USB 3 case (full tower)

All running on max settings as cool as 38 degrees (gpus top out at 42)

To be honest - I'd give the title a miss for a while, if not completely...

 

Low framerates - they're calling it 'cinematic' (What next - truly cinematic edition aka a slideshow?)

Microtransactions - for a full price game? are they mad?

REALLY shoddy glitches - drop through the floor? yup, cut scene with only the eyes and tongue of a character displaying? yup (although you may have to make a microtransaction to see the whole face)

 

They've REALLY messed up this time.

I found out last night there releasing 2 new ACs, AC:Unity and AC:Rogue, Both are coming on PC but Unity is for next gen consoles and Rogue for last gen consoles. Sounds like i'll be holding off for a while let them get a few patches in, still not finished Black Flag yet so no real rush.

Ubisoft. Assassins Creed. Environmental collision detection shot to hell. Is this really news? As no body played previous AC games? I'd almost be disappointed this far into the series if NPCs wasn't half buried in roof tops. This is par for the course.

 

Also, nightmare characters with missing face parts are cool!

Its getting to the point of only buying games after a few months of patches, like with Windows OSs. The publishers seem to be giving nonsense reasons why too such as "the online component makes it complicated" - yeah, it does, why not hire some people who have experience in that area? There are plenty of games with millions of online players...

I know laptop GPUs aren't as powerful... but it [censored] came out THIS YEAR.

Can we stop calling games/studios AAA based on budget? Ubisoft have shown, once again, they suck at making games.

I still await FC4 with big hopes - possibly because the FC3 engine was so good they don't actually need to change it, so 4 could be a mod for all I care.

Definitely. FC3 was fantastic. I don't think I ever experienced a glitch in FC3.

ACU review embargo was after the release. Something to hide.

 

Apparently alot of the framerate issues are down to...... Uplay! disconnecting from the internet (or not allowing connections to uplay) improve the framerate considerably on consoles, PC users might just need even more powerful hardware to overcome that issue until they fix it.

 

I hate it when game rely on websites or companion apps in order to do more stuff in games. Not using the companion app shouldn't limit the content of the game. I really want to ignore the $99 "micro" transaction for single player content.

 

Ubisoft are banking on people buy AC games yearly out of habit and they have got lazy and arrogant.

 

The main bit I didnt like about FC3 was the party dudebro's at the start, I didn't want to rescue them. Having Uplay nagging me about signing in didnt help either. Hopefully FC4 is more than FC3 with elephants.
