Not I'm my opinion, I actually moved away from my computer and left my phone in my pocket walked 4 miles, laid down in the wet on the river bank side to get this one.

Stunning picture, the richness of colours, focus and the sense of stillness from the Heron, contrasted with the motion of flowing water is fantastic. The ability of modern phones to help take this sort of shot is still impressive. Well worth the dampness you no doubt suffered!

Went for a walk on Cleveley's beach last week. I'd left my phone in the car, but my girlfriend took this lovely pic of the 'shell' there.

We went to the lakes over the weekend, this is mobile shot from my S10. I still have loads to edit from the camera and drone footage.

I was up at 5am to walk down to the lake it was worth it.

Credit to anyone that can recognise the location in the lakes.

Went to Gait Barrows at Silverdale on Saturday in the hope of seeing the Duke of Burgundy butterfly (quite rare) as they have a small colony there and wasn't dissapointed.

A beautiful day and normally you'd only manage to find one, if you were lucky, but Saturday had them all out flying in the sunshine and pairing off. I'll be lucky to see that many ever again I think!

A beautiful day and normally you'd only manage to find one, if you were lucky, but Saurday had them all out flying in the sunshine and pairing off. I'll be lucky to see that many ever again I think!

Nice, I was looking at Silverdale for a weekend break in June last night.

 

My next door neighbour a birder normally has been chasing UK regional butterflies over the past couple of years around the country, last time we spoke he had two to capture, one of those was supposed to be a resident of the isle of white. I wonder if this is the other one, will have to ask him.

If you are into nature spotting and walking then Silverdale is amazing. Was up on Warton Crag (on the southern edge of Silverdale) last Staurday and saw a Pearl Bordered Fritillary (v.rare up here). I would also recommend a trip to Foulshaw Moss nature reserve as it's not far from Silverdale. They have Ospreys there (and easily observed too) as well as a lot of lizards and adders!

Oh and make sure you get a chippy tea at Arnside and sit by the Kent estuary to eat them (just over the road!). Then go up Arnside Knott for a spectacular view

Was it Blackpool yesyerday evening and nice to see they have repaired the glitter ball on South Shore. It had got quite neglected and needed the mirrors replacing. It now looks very nice!

 

 

And close up turns everything to pixel art!

 

 

Also nice to see is the (relatively new) sea defences establishing themselves as a habitat for lots of things that favour rocky shores in the hexaganol blocks which make up the walls:

Went for a walk around Heysham Head yesterday evening. It's the home to a runied 8th century Saxon chapel and has some rock-cut 'graves' outside.

It is believed these held dismembered remains (possibly holy) rather than whole burials and the hole at the head of each one probably held a wooden cross.

Has anyone tried the new AI Generative Fill in the new Photoshop Beta. I started off just with the deer and selected it, inverted the selection and just typed sand dunes in the generative fill box. AI did the rest.

 

I can see lots of camera clubs having a tough time judging images not knowing if they've been subjected to AI or not.

All photos are edited, in camera, on a computer. If you can't take better pictures than an AI then the AI should win

We visited Teesmouth nature reserve at the same location as the night shot I uploaded a few days ago. On Saturday, we missed the seals as they had gone further out with the tide, but Sunday didn't they disappoint us as they were back with the incoming tide as we had arrived very early and had breakfast after in Seaton Carew.

The Deer was the second one of the morning, it came at us from straight on as it was either run back towards the main road and bridge or skirt between us and the creek. The Heron was later replaced by an Egret but I haven't done anything yet with that one yet.

Well worth a visit if your ever passing, easy pathways and birder huts all on the edge of a Billingham industrial area.

I agree, It fits a creative category if they have one for competitions, but anything else would more than likely have to be backed up by showing the original raw or jpeg with the exif info.

Our club meets again soon to discuss our categories for next season from September and I will propose that they have the creative category as permanent part of any future competition to try and persuade members not to use AI-Gen images in competitions.

 

Obviously you'll get the odd 'never go out with camera photographer' sat at home with a keyboard and computer creating what is computer generated art and passing it off as if they actually took it.
