I've been using Evernote for years but I increasingly find the IOS app poorly laid out

The web or PC/Mac client is great just the mobile app that lets it down.

So I was thinking about using one note instead.

What do you all use for quick note taking ?

OneNote plus Onedrive gives me decent apps and a web editor if needed, I still have an evernote account but I don't use it as much as OneNote.

OneNote isn't much better on iPhone in terms of layout, but I'm yet to see a note taker with such functionality be easy to navigate on a small screen, it's a lot better on the iPad.

Overall I'm using OneNote now as overall the apps suit me better than Evernote.

If you only use for note taking there isn't much difference. If you connect to other services, eg IFTTT.com then Evernote is a clear winner for features (although I have over a Tb in my onedrive, wonder how much I could stuff into Onenote before it explodes in a shower of sparks)

I use Evernote and I think the Android client is much better than the iPhone client and has improved a lot recently. I think they have different development teams for each platform, so there is often a difference in design and function between the apps.

I've always used Evernote as i've never really looked at OneNote although the number of people recommending it on here makes me think I need to give it a go.

Just switched to Onenote after years of using Evernote and I love it!

I lay things out in tables a lot and the table support in Evernote is terrible (apart from the Mac version which seems to have had a lot more development). For me Onenote is a lot easier to use and lay things out how you want them.

My only gripe is that you can't open password protected sections in the Onenote Andriod app but I usually have my iPad to hand anyway.

I started to use Onenote as a departmental documentation platform a while back and keep adding to it as you go along when time permits, I prefer it to Evernote having played with both, it just integrates and shares very well by comparison with the diff platforms notably onedrive and web editing make it workable on my chromebook when I want to plug away at home with it.

For me it has to be Evernote. The way you can clip pages from chrome or safari etc into a notebook, it ties in with more apps and has a nice widget on the iPhone version. Evernote all the way.

I use both.

OneNote for team note taking, organising materials, etc

Evernote for attached of scanned notes (I heavily use the EverNote stickers), linking to IFTTT and a few other bits.

I try to keep all of one project or work stream on the service, and OneNote gives me good control over where notes are stored to collaborate on.
