Sunnyknight Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 anyone seen this So people who bugged the system for stupid cash...... A SPECIFIC NOOB IN THIS FORUM....get to keep everything.... Resigning for good. P..... that.
ZeroHour Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 There are rumours from Devs that they can target specific people with huge amounts of cash rather than a full wipe. Someone said they are going to deal with those using the 875403745723 cr money glitch. It doesnt bother me tbh.
MattDLEA Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Hows this compaire to x2. I liked that and liked the traiding/mining and that you could get away with been peaceful. However most comments on here seam to suggest that you get attacked all the time. Also whats the deal with docking? No auto dock?

X2 is a completely different style of gameplay so I can't really compare them tbh. You can get away with being peaceful, but you'd probably still have times where you need to run/warp away from scary people. You have to dock manually unless you buy a docking computer for your ship.
ZeroHour Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Elite is first person for one as you must fly unlike x2. If you don't mind flying its great. Single player and private group have hugely less flight jumps/intradictions unless you are in an anarchy system.
GREED Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 What is the difference between solo, single player and private group options?
localzuk Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Well, I finally sat down and played some of the game proper. I have completed a whole 2 missions and I'm exhausted, lol. I now have 2500 credits! Woop! I finally have a rough idea of how to fly a ship, and am getting to grips with the X52.
pcstru Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I finally have a rough idea of how to fly a ship, and am getting to grips with the X52. It seems quite a steep learning curve. I've put in a few hours now - enough to do some upgrades and go hunting. That seems like a reasonable way to make money early on.
SchoolsBroadband Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I'm finding it quite difficult. The instructions (or lack of) how to do everything is the most frustrating thing. I bought a Saitek X55 specifically for this which is AWESOME!!!!! Makes you feel like a real fighter pilot Dave
localzuk Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Still, not as steep of a learning curve as Eve online... That's a cliff edge. This is more Porlock Hill.
GREED Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 So... got me Eagle (due to buying pre release). Like it. Got me mining laser and refinery... All fine... except I cannot collect the bits off asteroids. Help? I had to remove the cargo hold to fit the refinery, is that needed as well?? Help me someone!
localzuk Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Dunno about the refinery/cargo stuff, but I have a question. How do you get the Eagle? I pre-ordered. Dunno how to.

Yep you need a cargo hold to catch the parts and then refine them To be honest mining is boring can make more money and quicker off killing wanted people in the belts and resource sites.
GREED Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 On my radar too! Killed some fool and earned 10k
GREED Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 That helps thanks, although means I need to get rid of something else to make room for cargo hold
GREED Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Dunno about the refinery/cargo stuff, but I have a question. How do you get the Eagle? I pre-ordered. Dunno how to. It is stored somewhere in the game, at some port. Go to a star port and go to buy a new ship. You will see Stored ships and it will tell you where you need to go to collect it.
mrbios Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 That helps thanks, although means I need to get rid of something else to make room for cargo hold Sell the refinery and mining laser, get two gimballed weapons and a kill warrant scanner. Cobra MKIII kills earn roughly 10-20k each and eagles + sidewinders get between 2-6k per kill. (anacondas get 30k+ but really really hard to kill in an eagle) if you start smashing peoples cargo holds open and taking valuable items too you'll make money really quickly that way compared to mining (That is, unless I've got the wrong method to mining....when i tried it it took ages and got very little reward)
GREED Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Well I will give it a go see how get on if I don't get far I will sell up and have more fun fighting!
pcstru Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I found mining too slow and tedious plus I found some asteroids would yield 1/2 a cargo and then stop and no other asteroid near would have the same stuff. The Kill Warrant Scanner and some weapons upgrades were a much quicker way to cash. I got into one fight with a cobra which was being attacked by 2 Fed ships, I just got a few shots in and pulled 40K! I finally found an in system trade route which turns a decent profit (~1200 cr/t per round trip) with one of the stations offering trading missions for 10K a pop which are easy enough to fill with a quick jump out system and back. So very near to being able to afford the Cobra but need to save a bit more until I can fill all 60 T of it's holds. All in all I didn't expect to enjoy ED as much as I am. A shame there is little scope for co-operative play.

Cannon x2 Beam laser x2 Kill warrant scanner Military grade alloys B2 power plant ( or a2? I forgot which i had) D3 thrusters B3 fsd A2 life support A2 power distribution 6km sensots 2bar fuel Fuel scoop b3 Basic discovery scanner Shield cells b1? You may want to think about x2 missile racks instead for anaconda missions. Edit. Im now runninh a 60t cobra netting about 40k profit per 10 mins from interstellar trading. 1.1k per ton profit. GREED Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Meh just made 16k in one mining trip I'm happy for the mo!
GREED Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Scratch that... 22k on gold mining run talking me 15 mins.
localzuk Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Woop, after a total of about 3 hours play, I now have 8k credits. 2
