Depends on the spec of your laptop, you're right in that you should definitely try it with the laptop first before looking into other things.

 

Elite is actually not as demanding as you'd think it would be. :)

Good news: It works! Stunning game play and graphics are amazing.

 

Bad news: Yes, yes, my laptop is not gonna do the business! Its close to be fair, but just not quite!

 

To answer earlier question, don't wanna spend much over £200 really, Quad Core, 8G DDR3, decent Graphics Card, 120GB HDD, small case (Want to hide it away behind the telly!). Surely should be able to do something for that?

 

Yes, it really has been a while since I last bought a PC!

Thanks for that. I'm kinda hoping one of the sponsors will come back with a deal for it all (and build the thing for me!) :D

 

If not, back to basics and start buying bit by bit!

Hummmm 300 you say!

 

Really just looking for something that will do the job, I'm not full into PC gaming like I say elite is a special occasion so just want to be able to play it!

Motherboard, Hex Core CPU (AMD), RAM bundle - I have a similar bundle but I got the 8core one, and replaced the ram with my own. Its been pretty solid for me.

4GB Graphics Card - Covers the minimum spec by quite a way

HDD

Case + PSU

 

Total cost = £309.01 (excluding delivery). Will run the game on high at around 30-45FPS (ish), medium 40-50FPS, low 60+ FPS

No keyboard, mouse or monitor included

Heatsink + fan comes with it.

Psu.... give you that.

 

Break down the GTX 760 to something cheaper such as:-

 

Sapphire Radeon R7 265 Dual-X 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card [11232-00-20G]

 

and then buy the

 

Corsair Builder Series CX 600w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020060-UK) [CP-9020060-UK]

 

 

or.... buy the PSU cheaper on ebay (around £40 cheaper) and a cheaper case (£20 less).

 

I'm not brilliant with budgets under £500 tbh... i usually look upwards of £1k..... lol

Agreed...for a high spec at a reasonable price (£600+) @Sunnyknight will sort you a very very good machine. For less, thats where I shine as I deal with lower end hardware in my brothers work when he needs me.

 

I'm liking that deal buddy. Looks like a suitable spec to me.

well it doesn't cover a keyboard, mouse or monitor, nor does it cover a joystick with thrust controller...so enjoy :)

 

and @Sunnyknight I agree intel should be for gaming, but for a lower end price machine, AMD is where its at, and frankly, my AMD FX-8370 Eight-Core machine is on par with an Intel Core i7-4860HQ @ 2.40GHz so I'm happy :)

AMD always gets my vote for bang for buck. I've always found careful research into the motherboard and ram is very important to maximise the potential of a small budget computer. I only moved to Intel this build due to A) having more money B) Intel did have a few more newer technologies open to their processors than AMD at the time.
