Nicely designed site!

Only two things I noticed was if you clicked parents you have Latest news letter listed under the parent menu on the left hand side but also on the top menu bar. Personally I would move the news letter on the main menu to the drop down under parents so it ties in with your parent menu.

Which if you did would tie with my 2nd point. Your documents under the parent menu all sit to the right hand side of the menu in a pdf viewer (nice feature btw). But when you click news letter for me at least it opens up on its own taking up the width of the web page. I would try and set them up the same as it then looks consistent through your site.

only minor things but looks like a very professionally designed site!

Congratulations. A fabulous, up to date and very clean and clear web site. The only thing I noticed from my quick visit from Safari on an iPad was the Durhamlearning.net link isn't working.

Clearly the whole site is the result of a heap of well planed hard work and excellent interaction with all staff. Which platform is it built on?

Echo what others have said.. The site looks great!! Now the real work of keeping it up to date begins :)

The captcha image on the e-safety page contact form wouldn't load for me when I visited.

Also, can you tell me how you're displaying pdf's within the site like on the newsletter page?

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I am so glad you mentioned professional as that was exactly what I was going for.

I am the only person who designs and maintains the website which is a lot of work however I am given a Friday morning to do this.

I have taken your opinions and used them. Firstly I have fixed the Durham Learning link (nice find) and now the newsletter is part of the parents section. Below is the code used to embed a pdf document:

It appears you don't have a PDF plugin for this browser.

No problem... you can click here to

download the PDF file.

If you have any other advice it would be very much appreciated or if you would like any advice on some of my features I will be happy to help!

Your Capcha on the contact form doesn't seem to work :)

Thanks, for some reason it seemed to work fine for me but I have removed it for the time being whilst I find the reason. :)

Nice site. My only constructive criticism would be and an example would be on the Gardening club page the group photo for example is 132x99px displayed on the page but the actual image is 3072x2304px it was noticeable with the page load of the images. Just a little resizing before upload does make a big difference in page load times.

Your site looks really professional, nice clean design and feel

Have a look here to make sure you've got everything you're legally required to have on the website.

Thank you. I think I do have everything on that should be on. Have you noticed anything that is missing?

Good idea! I will go through all images and reduce the size. Thank you for the tip.

Very good,

but the bottom of the page looks like its missing something,

and also you can't click on the images of the school to make them bigger which would be nice.

But the website as a whole is very good.

Looks great

I would like to see a row of things to click along the top such as School Info, Parents, News etc

Should be a comma in that first line:

"We hope that you find this site informative, giving you a good overview ...."

Slightly misaligned - the fact that the first sentences have "We..." and then it reverts to "St Cuthberts Primary School" as the person talking..

On the George Elmy page - read the first sentence - it needs a word or two before "was" - maybe "the boat"

Internet safety:

This sentence is clumsy: "This is why it is important THAT pupils at St. Cuthbert's learn how to be safe when browsing online and especially when they become members of online communities."I would suggest a link to CEOP and ThinkUKnow at the bottom

Parents:

Please click on any of the links to the left to access information about each subject. If you would like a paper copy of this information or have any other enquiries, please contact the school office.

That's as far as I have got - minor niggles but you don't want to spoil a great site :)

Could you give me an example of what you mean? Sounds intriguing :)

Is that Wordpress? Wow looks great! :)

Maybe just my personal preference, but I'd prefer the rollover on the top menu to be more obvious. But that's very minor ;)

The text seems quite small by default, but zooming in solves that. I love the little doors on the classroom pages :)

And I did notice the pictures taking a while to load on some pages, especially the staff mugshots. The source images are 810x867 but are cropped to 145x145. The source images need re sizing to 145x145 ...maybe as suggested, make them a thumnail link to larger images if you want ppl to see more detail. Same with the site logo... 2090x400 displays at 1045x200 although that's not noticeable after the 1st load.

Ignore it - last night at home the bar across the top with all the headings was missing but today at work they are all there - which is what I meant.

I love the classroom doors too.

I got slightly sidetracked by the KS2 results - which were amazing, and the Ofsted report which puts the school as RI

If anything shows it is all political, that does!

It may be just me :$ but when the ofsted page loads it needs to be zoomed out before the whole width of the page can be read. I don't even know if anything can be done about that so apologise if not. As others have said love the classroom doors. A really good looking site too. well done, wish I could do something like that :)

Thank you for the feedback. When I view the ofsted page it seems to be fine for me. No zooming out needed. Could anyone else check this page and see? Ofsted Report | St. Cuthbert's Primary School

Another comment... you have a tab called games.

You may want to rename it to "Fun Activities" and change the html name to. Only thinking that as some school blocks may recategorise the website.

Also the Virtual Tours are not working correctly. It gets me to download a file, then shows 1 second in a long thin window.

I like the idea of changing the section to Fun Activities which I have now changed thank you for the advice.

The virtual tours have always been an issue for me. For some reason they have always worked for me and within school but many users always come back saying they couldn't get them to load elsewhere. I will take a look into this or may think of a better idea. Thank you
