We did this on saturday (though it only cost £2.50 ;) )

Simply, the best cinematic Spider Man film to date. A little dark for some of the younger kids however.

Whoever decided to do an animated release needs a medal IMO. It was so colourful, the action more brutal, and the little bits of on-screen comic text were brilliant!

who would of thought a comic would work well animated lol. no i really enjoyed it when i watched it enough i ordered the 4k blu-ray even though atm i dont have a 4k tv but i want to able to watch it at 4k when i upgrade

watched alitta battle angel on friday really enjoyed it but by the looks it wont get a sequel which is a bit of a disappointment as id like to see more of that world

Ha! I've always maintained that cartoons bring comics to life in a way that live action just cannot match. The series of DC animated films that carry the spirit of the Batman, Superman and Justice League animated series have always caught my imagination more than any live action Marvel or DC output.

Isn't It Romantic?

After she is knocked out whilst fighting off a mugger, Rebel Wilson wakes up in a suspiciously nice hospital room with a suspiciously attractive doctor. It doesn't take too long to work out that she's in a romcom. This might sound great for her, but it's a PG, so no nookie with the hunk who's fallen in love with her... but is he really the man of her dreams?

An amusing film, but one that could've been great with a sharper script.

I Feel Pretty

Trailer probable NSFW.

This week I have been watching films starring above-averagely sized blonde ladies bumping their heads with life-changing results. This one isn't as funny as "Isn't It Romantic", but feels a bit more "real".

Fighting with my family - packed screen with loads of little kids laughing loudly at the swearing and adult jokes. Big cheers at the flashed images of the WWE heroes.

Pretty ok movie otherwise. Weird cross Atlantic collaboration. Shockingly my 16YO daughter loved it. Bit emotional in places. 7/10

Watched 2 movies yesterday with the family.

Back to the Future 1 & 2. We were only going to watch 1 but then my son insisted that he had to know what was wrong with Marty's kids.

Anyway, a big hit although I had forgotten just how much they say "son of a b***h" in the movie. But according to my son it is the first 5/5 movie that I have showed him so far, Back to the future 1 that is, BTTF2 only scored a 4.5/5.

Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing & Charm School

Embittered widower Frank stops to help at a traffic accident and promises to keep the driver's appointment at the above class.

Came across this whilst trawling Prime for something everyone would agree to watch. The trailer makes it look like it will have a Full Monty vibe (avoid the other, higher quality, trailer as it gives away a last minute revelation) but it's more of a low-key drama with comedic moments. It's a sort-of sequel to an earlier short from 1990, footage from which is used for flashbacks and whose original star, Elden "Foggy Nelson" Henson has grown up enough since to play Robert Carlyle's workmate. Kind-of interesting, but you may spend more time playing "what else have I seen him/her in?" than enjoying the film.

Captain Marvel

Not great - shoehorns in lots of stuff mentioned in other Avengers films and seems to be just there so that they can bring her into Avengers Endgame

That's why all marvel films exist, to get you to watch the next marvel film.

Princess Mononoke, best 2d animated film ever

and thats one of the reasons why ive not been that bothered by mcu films. the other is that there are no consequences (or not many) you know that almost all if not all characters will survive even after "the snap" im betting that part 2 brings almost all of them back somehow and the ones who are too expensive will just be talked about and never seen like pepper potts now

Bohemian Rhapsody on Friday night.

Absolutely amazing, awesome, wonderful. Yes we know there's a little artistic license, but the film was brilliant and the soundtrack.... well, it's Queen innit. Don't think I've gotten goosebumps so often during a film; as soon as you hear the first chords of one of the many, many classics, up they go.

I've had so much crap going round in my head, either from some rubbish on Radio 1 or Die Antwoord (that's Far Cry New Dawn to blame for that), that it's been lovely to have the random "music" replaced with something decent that I don't mind accidentally breaking out into song with.

Easily one of my favourite films ever; it'll be up there with some stonkers like BTTF, Schindlers List, Pulp Fiction and Shawshank.

Kids seem to love it. She's the one to save them all... all a bit too obvious

Captain Marvel

I enjoyed it. Not the best MCU entry, but still entertaining. Would've been better a few films ago so that her appearance for the Endgame would've been less of a given. Stay for the mid-credits sequence, but the end credits bit isn't essential (though it is amusing). Wondering how long it will be before the more narcissistic actors demand digital de-ageing as part of their contracts.

Cinema was pretty full, with a good mix a ages and genders, despite the best efforts of a few to discourage people from viewing the film.

Best transformers film! And one of the greatest movie soundtracks ever!

Peppermint

After her family are killed by a drugs gang who a corrupt system fails to bring to justice, Jennifer Garner takes the law into her own hands.

Fairly entertaining female-led spin on "The Punisher"/"Death Wish".
