Friend of mine in the States mentioned these to me last night. For $20 a month (Works out at around £18.50 including shipping for UK residents) she receives a monthly package of nerdy items.

 

Her box this month included a Han Solo frozen in carbonite poster and Firefly cash (Galactic theme)

 

I'm going to be signing up for these, looks pretty interesting! Thought fellow EduGeeks might appreciate it

Not really no...

 

My most frivolous purchase last month was a fiver on 3 blocks of artisan cheese from the last local farmers market.

 

I can't remember the last time I went to the cinema, the last time I rented a movie it was from blockbuster, I last bought a CD in march (birthday money), I last downloaded a track from seven digital in june. I'm pretty dull with my money because I have a substantial mortgage and a car to run.

I took it that @Oaktech was more astounded that we have disposable cash rather than what we're spending it on

I suppose it depends on your life really! I don't have a car and live in a cheap house. I have no dependants etc... So, I have a reasonable amount of money to spend on fun things.

I use things like the cost of living increase to pay for this, its not money I've been used to having before so I don't miss it. Plus the family enjoys taking part in the unboxing process.
