laserblazer Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I used to use a spud on my A35 windscreen I have anti-fog stuff for my swimming goggles which might work. It doesn't help with the goggles though. think I must have sweaty eyeballs. (I had to edit this, I'd typed googles both times )

They are also routinely riding at 180mph+. Good quality textiles are just as efficient in protection for standard road use and are superior for comfort, warmth and water proofing. Have you ever watch Long Way Round? They aren't wearing leather are they. Having spent several hours in surgery after going down the road wearing textiles (a crash at 30mph caused by another road user), I would never ever, ever, ever advocate wearing anything else but leather. They may not look pretty or be as comfortable, but then again, neither are the scars or the surgery.

About to hit 200 miles after going round Cannock Chase (didn't even see a LITTLE dogging!) last night. The harassment was the passenger of the next car over making disgusting remarks and gestures when I took off my helmet to pay. Grossed me the hell out and they honked the horn a shipload when I passed them. On the plus side, I embarrassed a guy with a V6 by passing him at 60 after he passed me at 50. :3

She ALSO wants to learn!! "Oh cool we can learn together.." (might add it turns out that we had the same driving instructor - many many moons ago - which was scary enough) It's all the "if you passed your test before (insert date last century) and are older than (insert something around 50) can hold your breath for 2 hours while stood on yer head and juggling two 33kw elephants" that just makes me think naff it - i'll walk. And what the heck is that all about .... kw... this had to be the work of some overpaid eurocrat with little else to do - when I was young bike engines were measured in CC's - but try telling the youth of today that!! I just want someone to say if you are (around) 50 passed yer driving test in the (19)80's - you need to do this... I emailed a training center and they emailed back the link to the dotgov page with all of that guff on - I'd already read it and decided I "so-called" professional help - fat lot of good they were...

Engine displacement is still measured in cc, but Power is usefully measured in Watts (which is joules per second). If you want to stop people killing themselves by jumping on stupidly quick bikes without any experience, then you need to address power not cc. Perhaps that overpaid Eurocrat was a gifted visionary sensing that Electric bikes are the future! Best of luck with the CBT. 1

It may be a bit soon in terms of where you are regarding bike and license but it is definitely worth a look! Those guys know that at some point they are going to be going down the road sans bike on their arse at speed. As far as I know, they all wear leather. There is probably a reason for that. The vast majority of superbike leathers are kangaroo leather... Just out of interest!

I found a pair of awesome looking kangaroo leather gloves with individual exoskeletoned fingers etc.. I'll have to try and find them again, but as someone who is genuinely terrified of the idea of not being able to use their hands (and likely losing the self-reliance that comes with it) I thought they seemed rather good. Certainly seemed better than just your 'average' gloves with a bulky knuckle guard and nothing more. 1

Anyway - I've found a training school that told me what all the kw stuff was - in cc's and bhp - without me asking - guess they thought I'd be an 'old school' sort of guy.. I'm happy now and will be booking my lessons with them.
