howartp Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Ordered some 4' UV fluorescent light tubes yesterday from Maplin, next day delivery as the theatre show I'm using them for starts Saturday; rehearsals tonight and Friday. Shipping confirmation last night - Yodel! What are the chances of 4' fluorescent tubes arriving in one piece with Yodel?? Wake up this morning to text: "Due to a process issue your parcel has been delayed by 24 hours. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause." Grrr!

Never mind the bit where they have no idea what's in the package and shouldn't be launching it anyway..
claireadams Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 A few years back I had a yodel person refuse to deliver to me as there were boar at the bottom of my driveway. Like I could help that! There was a drive with a cattle grid so had they of drove up there the boar wouldn't of 'got' him

"You're parcel will be delived by Yodel" - heart sank! True to their form, it was delivered yesterday at 15:30, signed for by "Emma". My brother was in all of yesterday so unless he has a secret girlfriend who's name is Emma and she decided she wanted the coat, we're still waiting for it to turn up...
rad Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 My OH ordered some shoes for her mum form Sports Direct, they got delivered today by Yodel. The reason they got delivered I think is the delivery driver didnt want bright pink Crocs.

rich_tech Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Our new Superhub2 from VM was not delivered properly with these clowns, only it didn't arrive despite my wife waiting in all day Friday, at 6pm, we had a text off Yodel, stating that it had been left with a neighbour, as no one was in, when we checked, it had supposedly been left at a number - "Zero" on our street and signed for by a "News", so cue an Irate phonecall to them where they would have to get in touch with the driver and he would have to retrace his steps to see where he delivered our package, VM despatched another one that day, again using these clowns as delivery. Sunday evening, after returning home our elderly neighbour called me as I got out of the car and said that a neighbour from number 3 on our street (some 30 houses away), came up and tried to deliver our modem to us and left it with our neighbours instead, thank god for decent neighbours here.

Housemate has worked at both JD Sports and John Lewis who both use Hermes. Lots and lots of complaints. Apparently they're just as bad as YODEL.

A couple of months ago I ordered some clothes and as I knew it would most likely be heaving down with rain, I specified "Leave in the blue bin". This was clearly highlighted in bold yellow on the parcel, and still the driver left it by the bin and it all got wet. Luckily, the stuff wasn't damaged. On the plus side, the company refunded me and let me keep the clothes. Result! Last week I ordered some more shirts from the same company and, once again "Leave in the blue bin". They are getting better - they left it in the green bin. That bin gets a bit smelly but at least the parcel was dry.

Apparently they're just as bad as YODEL. I don't normally have an issue with Parcelfarce but I recently purchased some Corsets from Corsets UK in their sale. I'm a cosplayer and I'm fat - nothing kinky or sexy about me buying steel boned scaffolding, just practicality. In the 'Delivery instructions' box, I put 'Leave parcel in Recycle bin' - out the front of our house we have two recycle bins tucked down by the gate, behind my car (which stays on the driveway during the week because I commute by train). It was a relatively low value parcel so I wasn't too worried about them leaving it there. I get home to find a card saying 'Left with No $Neighbour' - Us and Number $ are on pretty good terms so I wasn't overly worried.... Until I knocked on the door. They have a dog - a Collie/German Shep cross (I think). Turns out, she got hold of my parcel and SHREDDED the packaging... Thankfully my items weren't damaged but I wouldn't be able to return them because they'd been torn out of the bags and the labels ripped off... Luckily I've been buying corsets from there for a long time so I knew they would fit. But even so, my 3 new corsets were left strewn on my neighbours' floor. So now, because ParcelFarce couldn't read the big 'LEAVE IN RECYCLE BIN' message on the label, my neighbours now know I buy (and wear) steel boned corsets... cosplay or not, it is still 'underwear' and I'm really embarrassed that they saw it because a) their dog is destructive and b) ParcelFarce can't read simple instructions.... As for Hermes, we have a 'Hermes Parcel shop' at the Co-Op just over the road - it's SO handy. I just have all my Hermes parcels sent there - they seem to deliver there more reliably.

Not that that makes it any better, they should train their pets, and Parcelforce should read the sodding instructions. Stuff very rarely gets left with our neighbours but I'm sure we've all bought things that we wouldn't really want other people knowing about. I'd hate for it to happen with anything of mine in that category.. :/ Personally I'd rather my packages not be delivered anywhere but my address. No leaving it in the porch corner, no leaving it with a neighbour. Give it to someone that opened my front door, or take it back and let me reschedule. Maybe I'm just too paranoid or over-protective, but I've had PC parts that I've ordered (to some great expense.. see signature..) left with neighbours and immediately I've just thought "Well.. ..".. Although now I just want to nosey at your cosplays The Irony is that I've bought 100's of £s of PC kit before and had it left in the recycle bin on bin collection day, but I knew the bin would be okay for this parcel because it wasn't due to be emptied until the following week. I'm currently in the process of making my Steampunk outfit... Have a couple of snippet-y pics:
