How do you do it?

What's the best way for users to get docs on and off the ipads? Preferably something free that can let them save & load work from their user area. I've looked at HAP+ but the documentation is quite basic and doesn't really explain what it does in detail, specifically with iPads.

 

The best way I've found is using Google drive/docs but this isn't perfect either.

 

Everything else I've seen like AirCatch is quite costly, and didn't work for us.

Not the best, I'm sure, but it does the job.

 

Sorry, I forgot to add, you will need a Webserver running a WebDav instance for this app.

As it is a fairly new product, we are really keen to gain feedback to help improve the product and provide an all round solution to storing tablet based data.

As per usual - FileBrowser. Allows connection to SMB shares, with user/pass prompt-on-demand... depends on your workflow / what apps you want to use as to whether it'll work with them tho.

 

Typically, create new document within FileBrowser in your home directory, use "Open-In" to open it in your app of choice, and then hope that app then supports save back.

Same app but not business ver, therefore not manageable via mdm.

I've been testing filebrowser, and it does seem to be the best - Will have to buy the business version but it's only about £120 for 32 licenses, so not too expensive at all.

Hmmm file browser seems a bit expensive in my opinion it wouldn't work out as cheap as Tonido does for us. But it is pretty cool just wish it was a little cheaper!

I used to use this & it worked really well but since I upgraded my server to 2012 r2 SMB shares are borked & haven't been able to sort it out yet which is a shame, might have a go with Tonido instead.

Our iPad suppliers have recommended Foldr as a solution, although this isn't free and we haven't tried it ourselves either. Just throwing the idea into the mix at this stage.
