ticker Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Hi All Just re-posting because my avatar name mentioned in the previous thread was incorrect. Myself and @RichCowell are organising the next Network Manager Meeting, under the guise of the Association of Network Managers in Education (ANME) We're planning it for the 26th June 2014, at the Best Western Park Hall near Chorley, so if you're interested, complete the membership form and we'll keep you up to date as we get more information...
pcstru Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 I accidentally typed in .com as a suffix ... just so you don't have to.
RichCowell Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I accidentally typed in .com as a suffix ... just so you don't have to. Yep, I did that too after getting everything sorted... still better than the previous names and domains we'd considered lol...
ticker Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 I accidentally typed in .com as a suffix ... just so you don't have to. We were pretty sure if you got that website you'd know you had the wrong one unless you are into that sort of thing!!!!
RichCowell Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Our website's gone live since this was posted - Association of Network Managers in Education Things are really coming together now for the first meeting too... Exciting times ahead!!
RichCowell Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Thanks @ICTDirect_Dave - thanks to Schudio for getting it all done for us too :-)
RichCowell Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Member Referral Competition Click here for more information
simpsonj Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Looks awesome, but just so far away! If anyone knows of similar groups a bit further south, I would be interested in a PM (I don't want to hijack the thread!). Is it worth joining as a member even if you can't make the meetings?
RichCowell Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 That's why we posted in the CLEO group! It is a bit of a trek... we didn't want to localise it too much as we didn't want to exclude anyone, and after talking to other cluster groups that have focussed on specific areas/regions and struggling to grow beyond that, we wanted to be able to grow in the future if it takes off - which it definitely appears to be doing... We're not looking to start a forum, as EduGeek's got that covered! lol, so other than getting updates & minutes etc. there's no real advantage of joining if you're too far away to attend the meetings... 1
RichCowell Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Just posted details of our headline sponsor on the website - Sophos - Companies | Association of Network Managers in Education Also started listing prizes in the raffle... the format might sound familiar to anyone that's been to the EduGeek Edit Conferences!
Gibson335 Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Is anyone else getting Openhive all over this site? - - - Updated - - - Is anyone else getting Openhive all over this site? I mean the ANME site!!
RichCowell Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Registration opened to members yesterday for the first meeting - if you're a network manager interested in getting involved go to Association of Network Managers in Education for more information!
WithoutMotive Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I'm in. Joined and looking forward to the first meeting in June. Thankfully somewhere nice and close. (I'm doing everything the organisers ask us to do, too. ) 1
RichCowell Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Thanks @WithoutMotive and @Ephelyon :-P looking forward to meeting everyone :-)
jhothersall Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I've registered too, I'm looking forward to it :-) 1
marsdenprimary Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Looking forward to seeing what comes out of the meeting. Could be a great way to do some useful and solid networking (no pun intended!) 1
witch Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Will you be looking to have meetings in other areas of the country as time goes on?
fiza Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Our website's gone live since this was posted - Association of Network Managers in Education Things are really coming together now for the first meeting too... Exciting times ahead!! Website looks good. Can I ask where this photo was taken? Is it from a school?
RichCowell Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Will you be looking to have meetings in other areas of the country as time goes on? Hopefully... after talking to other networking groups of different aspects of school roles that have included the area in the group name and struggling to expand, we didn't want to do that, so definitely looking to get it going in other areas too...
RichCowell Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Website looks good. Can I ask where this photo was taken? Is it from a school? Thanks @fiza I wish that was my school!! Sadly it's a stock image @schudio used on the site initially, fits quite well with the blue & orange setting... I've just edited it and put the image on the screens
witch Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 There is a Dorset LA ICT meeting in June - for both teachers and techs. I could take along info about ANME (pronounced Anime? well it is here ) and pass it along if you would like me to. Any flyers with info or anything? I find just telling people about a website doesn't really engage them, sadly
