I don't know how many of you are aware that the Freesat satellite has changed and the main terrestrial channels are no longer available in southern Europe. This has led to loads of alternative solutions involving the internet, most dodgy and requiring good bandwidth, which is seldom available. People who rent out holiday properties are in a panic because their guests expect to be able to watch "Corrie" and Eastenders. I'd be interested in your views. If you don't holiday abroad, imagine you do.

Last time I holiday'd abroad the only english channel was the BBC World Service. Good for background noise while you're waking up. Edited by tmcd35

Apart from when I've stayed with my inlaws, I've never been able to watch British television while I'm away. And frankly the holiday is better for it!

If you're away I think it's a waste of holiday to sit in and just watch TV! I'm normally only away for a week or two so anything I do want to really watch I use iPlayer when I come home or when I take my laptop we connect to my VPN and use iPlayer, 4od etc... as these aren't available in other countries.

It's nice to have access to some English news, and a couple of years ago when in France we watched quite a bit of the Olympics. Generally though, the TV on offer is not a massive consideration.
