EYFS Profiling

Hi Guys,

We are looking to purchase tablets for EYFS profiling. We are purely a windows network, I think we may purchase android tablets as they are cheaper. The software we have been looking at so far is 2Simple and Focus Fingertips. Has anyone used either of these or knows of any others that are good.

In my old Job before I left I had just implemented 2Simple on iPads (special needs environment)

 

It was largely successful by the time I had left, It was only limited by the IOS restrictions on images really.

 

Staff were happy with it, we were migrating away from eProfile, which actually worked very well. Im not sure why they didn't want it.

Bit late, but hey ho.

 

We use the 2Simple stuff here on Samsung Galaxy tab 7 2.0, TBH the app is pretty bad it will just close now an again for no apparent reason. However it does seem to do what it offers quite well.

 

On the hardware side, the photo quality from the cheaper tablets ain't great, so we've found when printing the images ain't great!

Tapestry at one of mine, I'll have to ask at the other that's using something like that later in the week.

 

From my point of view both seem fine as (apart from setting Tapestry up from the technologically-challenged teacher at that site) I've not had to touch the pads!

In our experience the 2Simple software is dreadful, *dreadful*, on the Samsung Galaxy Tabs. Dreadful.

 

It crashes frequently (without support really understanding why), its sooooo slow if you have more than a few observations present in the date range selected and we are having an ongoing issue with data not syncing with the websuite.

 

Dunno what its like on an iPad but I would swerve the Andriod version.
