Bah humbug... oh, wait. That's Christmas.

What's the one for Valentine's day?

But today should be for the remembrance of the St Valentines Day Massacre, not a day of love! Or even the day that Henry of Baveria became the Holy Roman Emperor, or the day that Alexander Graham Bell applied for the telephone patent...or.........

One of the many meanings of "Humbug" is "something devoid of sense or meaning; nonsense". Could very well apply here :)

Don't buy in to the overpriced tat or false sentiment - but do use the day as a reminder to tell the person you love how much you care. We go through this life at breakneck pace and we often forget to make the most of what we have. Just stopping for a minute to appreciate your partner is important

I don't celebrate it at all,

Why use an over commercialized day to tell someone you love them when you could have done yesterday, the day before or even tomorrow etc.

Even if I was in a relationship it'll still be the same.

I will be going to the cinema, getting drunk and watching The Lego Movie and Sleepless in Seattle.

~The more you know.

The worst thing about valentines day isn't the loved up couples, or overpriced tat. It's people constantly telling you how much they hate valentines day...

Assuming that the board is in a weird shape, meaning that that one long piece is all that is required to complete a line, doesn't that image suggest that %OtherPerson% is going to completely destroy everything you're made of?

I need something... A pay rise? A holiday? A bit of appreciation for the work I do?

Also, in the spirit of posting geeky valentines.

Tried to get some flowers last night, but was told that due to the bad weather there is a bit of a shortage as the cross channel ferries from Holland had been delayed due to the storms the other day :/

No, the line below the gap is also full and hasn't vanished. So presumably the 'board' is wider. Hooray!

Agreed with the missus that we'd do cards (cos she loves getting a card) and no more.

Then last night our 13 year old daughter surprised us with a booked and pre-paid table to go and have dinner out, so had a Valentines dinner just the two of us, which was nice after 3½ months of doing nothing but dealing with the crying newborn and feeling like Mum and Dad but never Matt and Claire.

I don't know if Valentines dinner being arranged by my 13 year old is me doing something wrong or something very, very right :)
