Spam Filter/ Email Protection Exchange 2010

Which do you use? We have Exchange 2010 and we're looking to improve our email protection as our staff seem to have started to receive more spam email.

 

We have a Smoothie box and have had a quote for the service. We've also had a quote for the McAfee solution.

 

Any recommendations? Products to avoid?

We're using mimecast hosted solution, it's ok.

 

I prefer hosted as don't see the need to blockup my internet pipe with spam email coming through to get scanned. I know the majority never make it past DNS blacklists, but some still have to be checked.

Mix of Exchange function and Smoothwall, does it's job

I used Smoothwall and it did a fairly good job and was well priced for what it was

I ask as I'm looking to put in place a Postfix/SpamAssasin server but could do with saving myself the job!!

Don't think I'm using edge transport as I just have the one server!

Sophos Puremessage used it for quite a few years without any problems

I've figured it, have enabled anti-spam just need to figure out rules so that I can forward to junk mail rather than Reject or Delete.

OR get rid of the SmartCache 2 and use the linux server and install Dansguardian/Squid anyway!! therefore alleviating you of the stresses of a smartcahe!

All you do then is allow your IP Range for BYOD in the exceptions rule and they wont get filtered.
