Little-Miss Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 ........ok, i've got to the last post....where's the punchline?
rickjames Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 There is no punchline. Taylor Swift is amazing.
DMcGuigan Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Need to start getting to more Gigs.. last proper one I went to was (there's some on there that aren't shot on a phone camera, but it was Tender Surrender.. had to be done) Last one that I actually went to though was Acid Drop I think.. went for one of the supporting acts though and had to leave before they came on.

aworkc Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Don't know what everybodies problem with Taylor Swoft is, I think she's quality
Garacesh Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 (edited) Whilst I wouldn't describe myself as a fan, I'll admit if you can take a moment to see past the whole half her songs being about exes thing*, she is actually an incredibly talented artist. Not 100% my cup of tea, but I'll admit to there being a few songs I do enjoy. Never been to any gig though. For any artist, I mean. I did win tickets to see Disturbed once, but I was absolutely decimated by the flu and couldn't go * I actually take no issue with songs about heartbreak, bad relationships, etc. They happen to us all. The 'meh' is with the recurring theme. But I do find the internet exaggerates it. Edit: Coincidentally relevant, this story was in BBC News' technology section this morning. http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/29885973 Edited November 4, 2014 by Garacesh 1

Taylor Swift's entire back catalogue removed from Spotify - BBC Newsbeat This ^^^ and also the fact that she keeps my mate Phil in work as her tour visuals designer!

flyinghaggis Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) Taylor Swift wants no part of the music streaming 'experiment' "If I had streamed the new album, it's impossible to try to speculate what would have happened. But all I can say is that music is changing so quickly, and the landscape of the music industry itself is changing so quickly, that everything new, like Spotify, all feels to me a bit like a grand experiment. And I'm not willing to contribute my life's work to an experiment that I don't feel fairly compensates the writers, producers, artists, and creators of this music. And I just don't agree with perpetuating the perception that music has no value and should be free. I wrote an op-ed piece in the Wall Street Journal this summer that basically portrayed my views on this. I try to stay really open-minded about things, because I do think it's important to be a part of progress. But I think it's really still up for debate whether this is actual progress, or whether this is taking the word "music" out of the music industry. Also, a lot of people were suggesting to me that I try putting new music on Spotify with "Shake It Off," and so I was open-minded about it. I thought, "I will try this; I'll see how it feels." It didn't feel right to me. I felt like I was saying to my fans, "If you create music someday, if you create a painting someday, someone can just walk into a museum, take it off the wall, rip off a corner off it, and it's theirs now and they don't have to pay for it." I didn't like the perception that it was putting forth. And so I decided to change the way I was doing things." I'd reading that as Taylor saying that she isn't getting a big enough cut from Spotify and reckons she can shift a few good few physical units to kids as presents in the run up to Xmas...... I have to say I think it's somewhat amusing that we have a thread discussing Taylor Swift on the site Edited November 7, 2014 by flyinghaggis

With that being said, I have heard that Spotify gives artists a rather.. fecal.. cut. Just like Napster back-in-the-day. Truth be told I'd much rather support an artist by buying their CD.
