StevieM Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Or there's George Benjamin's short opera 'Into the Little Hill', which is based on the story of The Pied Piper of Hamelin. 1
sfarmilo Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I heard a Gregorian Chant version of Loosing My Religion by R.E.M a little while ago, that was interesting haha.

StevieM Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Although, technically, it's not Gregorian chant (and it's ****** awful!)
JJonas Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 I played our students the album version of this today, they didnt know what it was but they liked it. 2
ICTDirect_Dave Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I played our students the album version of this today, they didnt know what it was but they liked it. Oh yes! I love these! Well to put it more accurately I think Rogrigo is good, but i LOVE Gabriella!
TomDrummer Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 For some weird music, Jojo Mayer/Nerve. Awesome "electronic" music actually played on acoustic instruments. If you want to scare them, try Cryptopsy or Fleshgod Apocalypse... I need say no more 1
StevieM Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I played our students the album version of this today, they didnt know what it was but they liked it. Not surprised! That's pretty spectacular playing! As an aside, I went to see these guys (The Katona Twins) just before Christmas. While, they were technically brilliant, I had to leave half way through. It was meant to be a 'chamber concert', but they were wirelessly amplified. Despite it being a stereo setup, there was absolutely no panning on the sound so everything just came out of the same place. Despite sitting quite centrally, the position/location of the speakers meant that everything seemed to be coming from my left - despite the fact that they were both positioned slightly to my right. It was like listening through one side of a pair of headphones. My head couldn't cope with that so I left at the interval. It actually sounds better to me on here that it did in the concert hall! 1
SteveB_NI Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Sorry to resurrect this old thread but what music do you recommend for a sports achievement assembly? Last year I used Script - Hall of fame but fancied a change this year!
witch Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Here are some ideas Best 60 Sports Songs to Rock Your Sports Party - Yahoo Voices - voices.yahoo.com I quite like the idea of "You ain't seen nothing yet" Traditionally it would be "Chariots of Fire"
ICTDirect_Dave Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Do you really need to go any further than this..? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9OHDfSiZ1g
Bompalompalomp Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) Lil' B. har har But seriously, I've used instrumental game soundtracks a few times. Managed to sneak in Silent Hill and System Shock 2 amongst Super Meat Boy and Minecraft before. Edit: Ooh! Ooh! Lucasart games soundtracks! I ripped my Sam and Max Hit the road CD and have it for assemblies too... Edited April 2, 2014 by Bompalompalomp
